If we had 2 high picks in 2012, who would you want?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
General consensus seems to be that Drummond has the potential to the best center of ANY age in all of basketball.

I'm just going to say that as long as D12 is in the league, he'll be the most dominant post presence on the floor of any NBA team. Drummond has the potential to be a great player, but Dwight is such a freak and he is just so dominant that I don't see Drummond surpassing that.

I think a healthy Bynum or Oden would have given Dwight a run for his money.

A healthy Oden easily could have given Dwight a run for his money imo, but i`m not so sure about Bynum. Drummond`s skill set offensively is far more developed than Dwight, and he`s taller. Under the right system caugh *Princeton* caugh Drummond could be the best C in basketball.

Completely agree. Also picking Drummond would give more options trading WildThing for some more picks or something.

True because you definately want to start Drummond so he could get chemistry with Kyrie. I honestly think that if we could possibly get Drummond we could be a playoff team in 2 years. Kyrie/TT/Drummond and a SG and SF in the next two drafts and we could be well on our way to championship contention.

Assuming TT can be about 3/4 of what Varejao is at his best and the Cavs could somehow have both Kyrie and Drummond on the same team...they'll be about one more solid draft pick away from being in a better long term situation than they were at any point during LeBron's career in Cleveland.

That's a big if, in regards to TT, but I totally agree.

At the same time, if this Drummond guy is as good as everyone says, he's going to tear up NCAA and be the #1 pick. I liken it to the Luck situation with the Browns. Our chances of getting him are miniscule, let's not hinge on drafting him.

Not necessarily. Asking for 3/4 of Varejao is basically asking for a top tier hustle guy. I have to imagine that given his limited skill set, that this is the expectation for TT. I'm guessing (hoping) that they're looking for him to learn from Varejao to be an elite hustle guy. Fact of the matter is that TT is a lot more athletic than Andy, so he has the potential to be even better if that's what they have in mind for him.

I'm also not in any of the practices or training sessions so I don't know what they're focusing on with him. If they've got him spending his time on post moves, then maybe the expectations for him are different.

I expect TT to give us at least 3/4 of what Varejao currently does. For one, he is going to be better offensively. I really like what Varejao does with his cuts to the rim, but I think TT can give us that as well as some shooting, and possibly even work in a couple of post moves as his career suggests. TT will also provide some weak side shot blocking, something Varejao lacks. The key is whether or not TT can play with a high motor consistently.

As far as needing a SG and SF to pair with our young core, do not sleep on Eyenga. If I were a betting man, I would put money on him filling one of those voids.

I'd say our odds will end up being right around 1 in 4

I think he meant an elite SG.

Not necessarily. The Mavs were able to win with a star big, and a bunch of solid pieces around him. That is the type of thing that I would like to see with the Cavs, either that or a team like the Pistons where there is no superstar, but there is a bunch of really good players, and solid depth. Our wing player dosn't have to be elite, they just have to be sound defensively, and able to chip in ten points.

How about we just keep drafting good prospects and hope they turn into great NBA players. I don't really give a shit "how" we get it done, although I don't think you can feasibly expect to win with one star player. The Mavericks did it, but are pretty much the exception.
