"Is Kinsey Lebron's Pippen?"

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
*FLASHBACK* - http://www.realcavsfans.com/showthread.php?t=13376&highlight=kinsey

Check out the 13 page thread after the TK signing in the summer....very entertaining. If you don't want to read them all then just wait for Kyp's summary which is due out this afternoon. :chuckles:

I haven't gone through the TK thread just yet but I do recall a lot of negativity about the signing. Sometimes, you have to wait a bit to see just what you've got. A lot of folks were pretty dismissive of TK before he even played. The jury, of course, is still out but the early returns are favorable.

Jerry West is a TK fan so you knew the kid had some talent. Brown was throwing him out there as a PG during blowouts which isn't his strong point. Ballhandling especially at his size, is something TK needs to work on to stick in the League.

So far I really like his aggressive game on both ends of the floor.

Tk looks good. Between TK, Sasha, and JJ. Wally is looking more expendible.

The Hollinger article in the longer thread said he was off to a slow start at the beginning of the season, it sure seems that way this year too. I think maybe his boneheaded play in the beginning was nerves because he looked fantastic the other night. I thought he lost it on one drive but he was just doing a fancy move. Glad he his identity as a defensive stopper is starting to show. Glad someone else besides LBJ and JJ can put up some dunks.

His minutes early in the year/preseason was more as a ballhandler/initiator type. He's a player like Sasha who just isn't meant to play a point anything type of role.

Ouch that's harsh. Kinsey can at least throw an inbounds pass. He's not Sasha bad. :chuckles:

to me kinsey is our only true sg
its great to see his length on defense and he adds some excitement and explosiveness to this team

sasha is close to a sg but also close to a sf. and we know gibson and west are small

I like that he's been ready to take advantage of opportunities. Whether or not he plays many minutes the rest of the year and into the post-season is yet to be seen. However, I think he might be able to earn himself a spot on a team, possibly the cavaliers, over the off-season if he keeps playing well until West gets back.

The Cavs already have Kinsey under a non-guaranteed min-salary contract for next season, so if Ferry wants to keep him, Kinsey can't leave. It's going to be tough for Kinsey to crack the rotation unless a couple of the existing guards are gone next summer, but I think we'll see him here next year anyway. It's great to have depth like him on the team and it's tough to beat his value/$$$.

If Kinsey keeps improving, he's got a very minimal free-agent amount in 2010, so his contract is very cap friendly going forward if the Cavs want to use cap space that summer. Ferry put together a smart contract to keep the kid here for a while.

I think Delonte Toughened up a lot playing with Lebron and really got a lot of confidence playing with him. I can see the same thing happening to JJ and Kinsey. You can see when they make good plays Lebron is really encouraging. It is nice to have so much youth and potential on the team. Their is no limit to the value of playing with a guy like him, he has raised his own but also everyone else's level of play this year.

Any news on Kinsey yet?

He's been providing the spark that Boobie was paid to provide...

Well, if he's going to keep busting up his foot from just running up the court with no contact he might just become LeBron's Hughes.
