Jae Crowder, See Ya When We See Ya

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rick Carlisle ---> Brad Stevens ---> Ty Lue

He either helps us win a championship or becomes untradeable in a year under Lue, even with that amazingly team friendly contract.

Uhhh, guys, WTF?

"Crowder’s defense hasn’t been the same ever since a sprained MCL in 2015. He’s also had multiple sprained ankles over the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons that sapped his lateral quickness. He’s still effective against forwards, but he’s not the same player against most guards and quicker wings."

This guy is fucking smoke and mirrors. Can't hit a three outside of the corner to save his life.

He’s the greatest role player in the history of role players...

But at this point I’d rather have TJ Warren @TyGuy :chuckle:

Its been a rough start, but we aren't even a month into the season and hes far from our biggest problem.

A small sample size has never stopped you before

He has a large sample size of playing extremely well, so I will give him some benefit of the doubt. He hasn’t played well after having a very good pre season and a couple game start.

Could coaching and role play a factor ? Cause this guy is making me miss Richard Jefferson...

I'm gonna pile on and say it's safe to assume he won't make a bigger impact than Kyrie.

But, his 3 point shooting has always been a problem. He doesn't know his own limits. Still seems like our best defender, for w/e that's worth. But yea, he's not a knock-down shooter. I knew that going in.

Role players do not and will not thrive in a system without a role though.

Crowder was a top 30 defensive player last year and one of best +|- in league.

He comes to Cleveland, where we are basically the island of misfit toys because the coach doesn't know how to run a system, and Jae becomes just another guy.

It's embarrassing.....

another scary fucking quote from the Ringer article:

"Crowder will also need to show he can hit open 3s. He shot 43 percent from 3 on 224 attempts from last October until February, but over the rest of his career, including the playoffs, he shot 32.8 percent on 1,257 triples. "
Is it possible he's a very limited player who Brad Stevens figured out how to completely optimize within his offensive system? And now he doesn't have a system?
