Jae Crowder, See Ya When We See Ya

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yes, I'm aware plus/minus on a game to game basis doesn't mean a ton, but holy shit this guy was -24 tonight.

@TyGuy you gots sum splannin ta doo!!

(I actually think he'll be fine)

He can't hit 3's in the spots this offense creates for him. Huge negative. Also while he's a good defender he's isn't a Tony Allen like shut down type.

Just striking to me how good JR was a few years ago. With all the extracurriculars and turbulence in his career, it's easy to forget how much talent he brought to the table. His drop off when he was hurt last year and now this year is creating a big hole for us. Seeing how a guy like Crowder who is a good player yet can't fill the role JR is striking. I also think Crowder will be fine but he's roleplayer and not going to be a savior for this team (IT better come back strong and somebody else either gets healthy like JR or takes a leap like Cedi)

Man, he must hate the Celtics for doing this to him. The worst thing to ever happen to his career, is getting traded to Try Fucking Losing. Was in a perfect system, ready to be a free-agent, and was going to get paid.

Instead he was traded to Cleveland. Met Ty Lue, the dumbest fucking asshole to ever walk the planet, outside his cousin Hue Jackass, and he has completely came in like a white knight shining armor to tank his market.

If Ty Lue disappears, the prime suspect would have to be Crowder.

Lue is the nightmare that keeps on living for everyone.

Just a role player doing role player things :dunno:

Lue subtly admitted why Crowder was benched:
"It's just new for him and as a player when you come to a different team just understanding where you're going to get your shots from and how you're going to get them," Lue said. "Getting rhythm shots and then start off the season and he's starting and then coming off the bench and playing with new guys. Now he's starting again so it's going to take him some time. We know he can make shots so we're not worried about that. Just want him to take shots when they are there."

Isn't this the Liggins treatment? Good/decent/energetic on defense? Who cares. Don't take shots? Benched.

Lues gameplan doesn't go beyond those that can drive/create and those that can shoot semi open 3s at a high enough level. He isn't going to run sets so you better fall into one of these categories or you have no place in his lineups.

Lue is another one of LeBron's baggage boys holding the team back

Just an absurd comment by Ty....the reason Jae can't find any type of rhythm, or any role player can't find a rhythm, is because we don't run anything resembling an offense.

Before we played the Knicks, I was watching NY to get a peak at Porzingis, and my immediate thought was "damn, they don't have a lot of talent, but Hornacek has done a nice job implementing an offense and system. They're going to be tough".

Knicks come out and whoop our ass.

Talent will only get you so far in NBA if you don't have any type of system at all. Which is where this team is at. It's just one huge clusterfuck. And they may be able to put some leaves over the holes in the ground if they play with more intensity, but the system itself is a joke. By NBA standards, they're brining a knife to a gun-fight every night in terms of game-planning. Even bad teams like the Pacers and Knicks have surpassed us from an X's and O's standpoint. It's ridiculous....such a waste of the best player in the game. And a waste of great talent around him. Can you imagine Brad Stevens or Rick Carlisle on our sideline? Makes me want to vomit....

Gonna give him more than 8 games before worrying especially since his value was on display vs Bos and Mil.M

IT returning will help him big time as well since they have good chemistry and IT knows where and how he likes the ball.

Crowder needs to keep tape of this game and duplicate it as much as possible.

Really solid game.

Rumors of his demise were greatly exaggerated.

Just him or the entire team?

j/k

Ty's Guy Jae was great tonight. Hes the type of player that as he gets more and more comfortable and the team understands what he does best, he's going to look much better in the last 41 games than the first 41.

It's tough as the type of player he is(wing who isn't a natural ballhandler/creater) to go from one system you played in for 3 years to a brand new one. Especially when that brand new one also has 7 other brand new players that came from 6 other systems/teams last year.

Crowder just wants to fight everyone, but when he faces them he just turns away. He gets knocked down, looks at the offender for a sec and then goes to mind his business.
I love this fake tough guy attitude.

I think Crowder best asset as a defender is his switching ability.. his lateral quickness isn't elite, but in the modern game he can just switch against anyone on the court.

If he were a better top of the key shooter, then using him as a screener in a high PnR would have been a great option.. because I can see his potential as a screener, but it really limits him that he can't knock it down from there.

Good game overall.
