Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They are better basketball players. They produce more on the court per possesion, they are more efficient, they play better team defense.

Like I said at least 5 times now. I'm okay with this if he gets few minutes. If he's counted on for over 20 minutes a night it isn't good.

are they? you know the only reason GS rolled with a 3 center platoon was to save wear and tear on draymond green.

THEY ARENT AVAILABLE AND THEY DONT WANT TO PLAy FOR THE CAVS

Your fucking beating a dead horse that no one cares about.

I mean what does it mean exactly.

The cav cant sign Javale they asked him last year he went to the kevin Durant warrioirs.

if you like them so damn much. root for the warrioirs.

its goddamn vet min contract. Green feels a need.

all your doing this offseason is crying about two damn over the hill vet min guys who don't even want to play for Cleveland for whatever their reasons.

What do you want the Cavs to do ??? fire the GM THEY ALREADY DID

but once again what if they were better players? are they better than Tristan , Love and probably Tavares? no they aren't.. that's ot why we lost the series

I mean your only comparison are from 2016... NEWSFLASH it is 2017.

NEITHER PLAYER IS Available.

GO suck their balls. we got Jeff Green deal with it.

man up you sound like a friggin 2 year old.

I brought up Javale last year. I thought he was a good sign for the Warrioirs.

and you know what he was teammates with ZAZA. so god forbid he would want to play on a team with his good buddy ZAZA and KEVIN DURANT.

There is some things beyond a teams control.

David west... hates the Cavs cause we kicked his ass

I mean get over it. we could of signed both players and it wouldn't of made a damn difference in the series.

Javale played like 20 minutes in the damn finals.

Green is a veteran starter can play positions those guys cant and has playoff experience. that's what Lebron wants and that's what we got.

maybe green doesn't play a single minute maybe he doesn't .

Cavs secured a veteran point guard cause we didn't have one last season thanks to mo and the Cavs probably felt the need to grab him quick

let not forget Golen state signed calderon and only waived him in two hurs because Durant got hurt and they needs a wing instead...

Cavs are probably gonna try to move or cut felder. they mave have to move Jefferson,Frye and Shumpert. so having Green on the roster gives the Cavs flexibility.

just like West and Javle gave them 3 centers to lean on so Draymond could save some minutes.

Green is an upgrade to James Jones. Calderon gives the team a competent Point guard who just has to dribble the ball down the court and give it to either Kyrie or LeBron.

Again at the very least we have another athlete wing who can ease the defensive load for LeBron.

LeBron is probably going to be the best thing that ever happened to Green.

Resurgence is coming...

...and if it doesn't it only costed a couple mil.

The resurgence will happen in the minutes he plays with LeBron; just like everyone else.

The Denver thing was a typo, the numbers weren't. Javale was very effective for Dallas as indicated by his +7 and very good per 100 big man numbers.

Put it this way. Javale was much better as a big man than Jeff Green was as a big wing. I don't see how that is debatable and just because the stats don't say what you want them to say doesn't mean they're shit.

I'd love to hear a reasonable argument that suggests that Jeff Green last year was better than Javale Mcgee in Dallas.

Javale was very effective in short doses for Dallas and the warriors banked on that also being the case. We also needed a big man in short doses, but thought birdman's corpse would be a better option.
okay so you would of preferred Javale over Birdman.. hey so woudld I .. but we wasn't able to get Javale.

why take it out on Jeff Green?

1st Javale signed with the Warriors on July 29th... not July 12th.

Free agency isn't even over. potential guys willing to take min contracts or non guaranteed contracts ( javale was in such demand he took a non guaranteed contract)

There is a reason Javale got a non guaranteed contract on july 29th and Jeff Green signed with Orlando for 15 million on July 1st.

Green sucked so bad that Clippers were hoping to retain him.

as far as how Green will fit as a regular season rotation guy and a back up starter we wont know until the season starts.

Memphis was better with Green on the floor whereas the Clippers weren't and Orlando just plain sucked.

We have not seen Jeff Green in a reduced role where he he is playing 4-6 minutes spurts.

Its rather intriguing first off. we know that Green has a heart condition and that consistency has always been just out of reach for Green.

Green is a solid guy and is someone Lue can go to instead of leaning on RJ.

What is for sure is Green is a tenacious perimeter defender and if you pair him up with Thompson or love they can stay in the paint while he hits the perimeter and helps out the wings.

He isn't gonna get a lot of rebounds because he isn't gonna be near the rim. we have three world class rebounders on the roster . so he isn't needed for that.

Solid Perimeter defender who can split time with RJ who generally isn't gonna make stupid mistakes on the court..

its not exciting but it fits a need.

Does Cavs signing Jeff Green mean Derrick Williams is gone now? Or can they have both?

I'd imagine he is gone but some kind of Melo trade could open up some roster spots and maybe he could be a vet min signing at that point.

Still unlikely as he would be very redundant with Melo, LeBron, and Green already here.

I would think he is more likely if we don't pull off the Melo trade, which right now looks completely silent on our end. I could see Williams and Green splitting minutes in relief.

I like Derrick better, too.

Plus, the fact that Derrick was a #2 overall means that Derrick was the second-best player in that draft. The sky is the limit for that kid.

Well, Anthony Bennett was drafted #1 overall. Sky must be the limit for him too.

Dud, dud, dud. Throw him in there with Calderon, Korver, (Shump, RJ, Frye [last yr]) and Irving as negative defenders on the roster.

Cedi (He's 22!) is the only one am excited to see on that end of the floor last year. If he blows or TT doesn't play him, then...

Man, next year's regular season is gonna be one for the ages.

Seriously, tho: I wish we knew what we HAD in Derrick.

Never got to see, once he went balls-deep on Lue's wife...

Lue's ability to coach is consistently bad. He should have played Derrick more.

However, I think LeBron will help Green the way he helped JR.

Don't let 2017 prejudice you against JR. It was a write-off for various reasons.

Fixed.

You guys are acting like Derrick Williams was just drafted. There are several seasons worth of evidence that Derrick Williams is nothing more than a bench energy guy on a good team. I watched this guy get significant minutes for the Knicks just the season before last and he was maddeningly inconsistent. I'm not saying he can't improve, but I highly doubt you guys missed out on seeing how good he is at this point of his career.
