Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jr had an elite skill though that compliments LeBron more than anything, shooting. Jeff Green doesn't have an elite NBA skill.

His length and athleticism for his position is elite.

JR is the better player, but Jeff Green will provide more use than many are expecting.

Just wish i felt the same way about Jose Calderon, but maybe there was a reason for him falling off a cliff last year we dont know. (well, besides he is old)

My view of Green is that he will be just fine with LeBron like every other wing ever including Derrick Williams. He will be shitty with lebron off the floor. If we had a big defensive wing I bet you would find productive minutes out of him with Kyrie out there and LeBron on the bench.

I think he will be better than you think without Lebron although he wont be the 2nd coming of Durant or anything.

He will show some use, more than we get out of most vet min signings, but ultimately he is a vet min guy and not a super star max player type. I think we got 50 cents on the dollar for this signing and over paid for Calderon.

The Warriors signed two guys last year on vet min deals that were better than Green (West, McGee). History tells us it's not likely Green will be good without LeBron on the court with him.

McGee was in no way better than Green before the season. Until last year, he was considered a much bitter knucklehead than Jeff Green. But that proves my point.

West on the other hand was ring chasing which worked out for him I guess.

But, I think Green will prove to be just as useful as an old West was for GS.

He was though, much better in fact:

Javale Mcgee 2016 Denver

23.7 points (.574 TS) 18.3 boards and 3.6 blocks per 100 possessions and a net +7. Jeff Green was a minus player, just like he was throughout his career.

Jeff Green 2017:
20.6 points (.505 TS) 6.9 boards 2.6 assists, 2.4 turnovers, 1.2 steals per 100 and a -14.

Jeff Green is a career -5. It's pretty much guaranteed he will be awful without LeBron on the court with him.

you know.... one guy is a center and the other is not. .

Noone cares who who the Warriors acquired for the min last year because they got KEVIN DURANT.

Javale McGee wasn't even in Denver in 2016
He was in Dallas and he played a whopping 370 minutes. that's 11 minutes a game because he only played 32.

not only that 66% of his shots were 0-3 feet.

Jeff Green has never averaged under 20 minutes a game.

Green has also started over 52 games in the last 3 seasons.

I don't get your point. your ranting about shit no one cares about and is rather subjective.

your throwing out shitty stats that doesn't equivocate for crap.

GS could of got Ryan Hollins and Brian Scalabrine . the results would of been the same

Ill take an inexperienced Tavares over those 2 clowns any day of the week.

The Denver thing was a typo, the numbers weren't. Javale was very effective for Dallas as indicated by his +7 and very good per 100 big man numbers.

Put it this way. Javale was much better as a big man than Jeff Green was as a big wing. I don't see how that is debatable and just because the stats don't say what you want them to say doesn't mean they're shit.

I'd love to hear a reasonable argument that suggests that Jeff Green last year was better than Javale Mcgee in Dallas.

Javale was very effective in short doses for Dallas and the warriors banked on that also being the case. We also needed a big man in short doses, but thought birdman's corpse would be a better option.

@Tornicade My main point is multiple people have said you can't get better players for the minimum. I showed two players on one team that were better.

I won't have a problem with Jeff Green if he assumes the Derrick Williams role. If he's playing over 20 minutes a night there is a problem.

You leave the white mamba out of this...

better in what respect? What exactly does Javel and west do for Warriors in the finals?

In fact what do either of those players do for the Cavs in the finals?

and what does that have to do with what is available at the min this season?

There are a few good players out there who might take the vin...but Vince carter just got 8 million to be a mentor.

These guys are still assessing their options.

They are better basketball players. They produce more on the court per possesion, they are more efficient, they play better team defense.

Like I said at least 5 times now. I'm okay with this if he gets few minutes. If he's counted on for over 20 minutes a night it isn't good.

This move for the minimum is good regardless.

However, once Tyronn and LeBron get in his ear, talking him up, I think you see a career rebirth type of year.

He's going to be a big impact off the bench for us. They'll be telling him he's a defensive stopper, giving him that push playing for a top team, and telling him to just run the floor and LeBron will find him.

It's a great fit.
So I guess Shump tuned them out ?
