Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm actually a fan of Jeff Green, and I find it laughable that anyone would say this is a bad move for the minimum.

He can play. He's a long NBA wing. Career 13.5/5 guy.

He's still only 30.

Just wait until you see him in a lineup with LeBron. Rebirth.

Thank God someone had the good sense to defend Jeff Green's honor back in early July. Everyone was so angry in here.... Jeesh. It's almost like we signed Jose Calderon on the first day of free agency or something....

Anyway, giving a player like Uncle Jeff a niche role is exactly what's making him effective. 20-25 minutes, asked to defend and run the floor, and occasionally take a big man off the dribble to the hoop--where he's an excellent free throw shooter if he draws the foul.

He's a guy that has a number of tools, but struggled at points when he was asked to do way too much given his draft slot.

Here, the pressure is off and he's being asked to do what he does well. Love the move for the minimum, and I hope he chooses to stay with us again next season.

And yes, it's only 4 games in. Just guys like him aren't easy to find for the vet minimum.

I loved how many fouls he drew last night. Bodes well for IT's return if we're actually going to get some whistles for a change.

As long as he sticks up his role he’s fine. But he’s got the Shump disease where he has stretches that he thinks he’s a superstar and takes wild shots and overdribbles. It’s what he’s done his entire career. As long he’s hes attacking the basket he’s fine.

No. He doesn't. Shump disease is terminal.

...as in, we're going to terminate that bitch from our team as soon as possible. :chuckle:

Call me crazy, but I think Green allows us to play LeBron as backup center against the Warriors.

LeBron guards Draymond
Greeen guards KD
Crowder guards Klay
JR guards Steph
IT guards Iggy (if Lue is smart)

Just depends on which Jeff Green shows up that day. He’s never to be depended on.

If Shumpert wasn't an asshat, LBJ, Crowder, JR, Green, Shump could be one of the scariest defenses ever.
I haven't had to use this one in a while, but this post deserves it...

If he could just hit a decent % from 3 and rebound better..

Huh? Explain? Cause that looks like an invitation for Iggy to back IT to the basket every time with ease.

Forcing the Warriors to run offense through Iggy works better than letting Klay, STeph and Durant burying us from 3.

Also he actually did a decent job on Otto Porter/Kelly Oubre last year when the Wizards tried that strategy.

If that’s the way they want to beat us than please be my guest. Anything is better than letting curry klay and KD rain 3s on us. Maybe IT can swoop in a few times when he’s getting backed down and get a steal.

I can't stand him: bricks open 3's, teammates feed him the ball because he looks like he has a mismatch and then he can't score, and on defense tends to lose track of his guy
