I think he will be on Durant or Green most of his time. West is a matchup TT can handle I think.

Green will get big minutes if we play GS

Jeff Green deserves some props. He is playing very well and he is filling in the gaps of what other guys can do and he is getting physical. He guarded Adams respectably last night at times.

Green's steady play and defense have been crucial to the Cavs success. He guarded Paul George, Melo and Adams. That is amazing and he hit some important shots when the offense stagnated. I don't want them iso-ing much, but he and Jordan's ability to go one on one is important during small lulls. They both kept the offense humming.

Great work for Jeff and glad he is having so much success.

I don’t expect Green to be back after this season. He’ll get better money somewhere else, and Cedi will he looked at to play the same role going forward. He and Green are reduandant, and Cedi will need minutes to come from somewhere.

I'm not going to give you the thumbs down, but I will say that I respectfully disagree with both things you said.

I actually do expect Green to be back next year, even IF we win it. He absolutely could get more money elsewhere, but we can still offer enough to keep him satisfied. I genuinely believe he loves it here. He gets to compete night in and night out for a team that's chasing a title, and he honestly looks happier/more smooth on the court than I've seen in years.

Cedi can do many of the things he can do, I do agree with that - but their roles aren't exactly the same. Cedi is our defensive specialist that we can even comfortably switch onto PG's at times (see him vs. Kyrie and occasionally vs. Westbrook last night). Cedi will also continue to start and not be relied upon too much offensively yet, while Jeff can still come off the bench next year and have more offensive freedom --- which he's done well with thus far.

As long as he doesn't wish to chase much more money next year, I think he undeniably has a role carved out going forward for at least the next 1-2 seasons. I think he, LeBron, and many others see how special this team can be not just this season but going forward. We've only scratched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the potential of our new squad.

I’m willing to bet Cedi won’t be a starter on this team next year. I think Hood will transition into that spot full time beginning next season. Cedi will be the versatile defender and slasher off the bench that Green has proven to be this season.

I could be wrong with Green’s contract, but I expect him to go somewhere for the full MLE, and I don’t expect the Cavs to offer that.

Green on the MLE would be great .. not sure if it's possible

Idk. Given the large need this team will have for some sort of interior presence defensively and on the glass, I think that’s where I’d prefer to see the MLE spent.

The Cavs will have limited resources to fill any holes in the roster, so I’d rather them be spent on clear needs. I don’t see bringing Green back as one of those.

I do, however, see him being a target of other playoff teams looking for length, athleticism, and versatility off the bench. Minnesota and OKC immediately come to mind there. You could always see a team like Philly sign him to a big one year deal as well.

Have faith that after draft night, that will no longer be a concern

Not if we get my wish and end up with MPJ or trading the #1 pick for Kawhi Leonard

yeah in those scenarios we don't need Green as much. We do if we get Jackson, Ayton or Bamba.

How much money is the MLE we have available next year to offer Green?

I think Green will wait to see what Lebron does. Lebron stays, JG stays.

I think a lot of it depends on how he plays in the playoffs and how the draft plays out. Right now we are looking at 137MM in payroll for next year, before we sign Green,Hood and a top 3 pick (hope right).
