Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Green is greater than the sum of TT plus JR.

Never thought I'd say the Cavs' secret weapon on defense is Jeff Green, but here we are, three weeks from the playoffs, and Jeff Green is their secret weapon on defense. He seems to be a guy that does well against players that rely on their defenders selling out rather than players who rely on their quick first steps. That's why he can stay in front of Harden and Kyrie, but guarding a guy like Russ is a bad idea.

On the flip side, George Hill is a guy that has the ability to at least stay with those quick first step guys. There's a deeper dive into defense and the type of ball-handler they're defending, but it would take a lot of time and effort.

Yeah, this thread title is fucked and needs to be changed to something less derogatory.

I agree , Green has been our 3rd? Most important player this year, that may not continue with the additions but still, he’s helped keep us afloat.

OK, let me know if this is better---
Well done. Which leads me to think who’s had better year among the Hardcore Jouneyman . DeMarre Carol comes to mind . 8 teams in 8 years including 1 year with the Dakota Wizards .

DeMarre Carroll was a very effective starter for the 60-win Hawks. He’s a pretty good basketball player. One might argue that Carroll has maximized his potential (especially given his heart problems), whereas Green has not. On the other hand, Green’s potential might have been overrated.

I agree with this. Green is an all-star talent Imo. He just had really bad instincts. If he had made defense, rebounding, and driving to the home his priority, he could have been a star. He rode his athleticism and bad shot selection into a min contract.

He seems like a smart guy and I genuinely like him as a person. He just takes too many hero shots and he doesn't see the pass when he has broken down his defender, but the rim is not open. He could get a lot of assists out of kicking out to 3 but he always takes the shot no matter what

Definitely an odd move. I assume they want to get that group some playing time together. I want to see some Nance, Love, Green, LeBron, and one of the guards. I think Larry Drew realizes we don't have many good lineups to go to at the moment and will use the rest of the regular season to find some. The mixing and matching lineups has worked alot better than the straight hockey lineup changes Lue was going before he left the team.

Yeah weird when Nance and Love played so great together the other night. This has to cut deeply into TT's minutes right?

Hopefully but I think this is about getting Love time at center while getting probably our 4 best defenders time on the court together. It will be interesting to see the center rotation pairing with the PF rotation. I can't see Nance and TT getting minutes together so either it's a 3 man rotation at PF/C or Green/Love will rotate out early.

Eh TT is in there now
