Re: Browns New Coordinators

Very close (girl) friend from college just informed me that she's very close family friends with Jim O'Neill and that he has accepted the DC position with the Browns.

Had no idea this girl had any connection to him until moments ago.

Nonetheless, the hire will be announced shortly.

OKAY PLAYA! But in all seriousness, really hope she has that spot on. His work with Kiko is very intriguing to me for one person: Mingo.

same thing bob stoops said, so obviously the browns are going to get him

Now that's disappointing. Not only did we not get him but the Ravens did. Double whammy.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

Hard to believe a team with a stable and focused front office can lure people like that.

This one doesn't make a lot of sense. If he wanted total control of playcalling, schemes, etc. that should not have been a problem. I'm wondering if he wanted some sort of say in personnel decisions on that side of the ball.

If that was the case, I don't blame management for telling Kubiak to go pound salt. He's no longer a head coach and the last thing you want is too many cooks in the kitchen.

Doesn't seem to be a problem for a much better organization like Baltimore.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

Maybe it's the NFL or maybe it's the Browns but there seems to be a lot of talk about candidates wanting more power and that's the reason we don't hire them. Again, this could be an overall NFL issue but it certainly has come into play with the Browns over the last 2 years.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

If the front office had hired Kubiak, people would be bitching about them undermining the authority of Pettine. People just love to bitch, moan and whine about any goddamn thing in this town. It's so tiresome.

Gary Kubiak just got canned after his team shit the bed for 14 games. Sure, give him power. If people are solely blaming the Browns for this, it's just stupidity. These guys want to walk in and run shit; dude, that structure is what just got you fired.

Basing Kubiak's coaching abilities off this past season is just stupidity as well, so there's that.

He coached the worse team in the league last season so we should give him all the control he wants right?

Rappaports tweet continued to say that Kubiak wanted a Co-HC title however in the retweet Ruiter cut it off....

@RapSheet: Told Kubiak wanted a little more power over the offense than Browns were willing to give. Wanted to be pseudo-HC. Now, Loggains in play
