I wouldn't.

The fact that James Jones was willing to move on from him after 1 year tells me about all I need to know about Igor being a head coach.
Said it before, but I personally lean towards hiring a first-time head coach rather than a retread. The better retreads who have had success will take better jobs elsewhere, and the odds are simply longer for the guys who have only failed.

The best chance of finding a really great coach willing to come here is to find the right younger guy, and give him his first shot.

Or it means that James Jones isn’t a very good GM.

Cavs should look into Kidd.

Could elaborate as to why? All I see is a guy who mightily underachieved and grated on co-workers everywhere.

Look at what the Bucks have done since getting rid of him.

I think you'd have a hard time finding a single reputable source siding with the Suns on this one.

Chalk this one up to the Suns being the Suns....

He's a great coach, James Jones has been a terrible GM

I mean, he's officially been the GM since April 11th. So to say he's been a terrible GM in 13 days seems a little much, no?

He has been the interim GM with another man since October, so here's an article evaluating all the moves since he's been one of the two GM's..

A couple of the moves I really like.

- He was not the one that signed Ariza in the offseason, but was able to flip him for essentially Oubre, a young wing with potential who is a RFA. Considering Ariza was a 1 year rental, they can perhaps turn Oubre into something.

- Unloaded Ryan Anderson's god awful contract. And while they acquired Tyler Johnson's hefty contract, it's slightly smaller and he only has 1 year left, making him an expiring this year. Even with that, Tyler Johnson fits a need at PG and actually had decent stats for the Suns before going down with an injury. Anderson was not a fit for Phoenix or even Miami for that matter, he's god awful now days. Tyler Johnson is AT LEAST serviceable.

- The only move that was really questioned was the buyout of Tyson Chandler. Some think he 'did a favor' for his buddy LeBron to pair him up in LA.... But how did that work out? Chandler could have easily told PHO that he'd only go to the Lakers and just sit out for any other team he went to..... Chandler being from LA, my bet is that is what happened. And the Lakers still didn't make the playoffs with him so what did it really matter?

All I'm saying it, it's WAY too early in Jones tenure to label him as a bad GM. He very well may be, but you have nowhere near enough examples to prove such a claim. Let's see how he does with this draft, offseason, and coaching hire, and we'll re-evaluate from there.

We need a "coach muncher" or something, where it lists the candidates interviewed, planned to be interviewed & rumored with listed team/area ties, coaching trees, etc.. I mean, how exciting is it going to be when Woj tweets, "The Cavs have hired JB Bickerstaff as their new head coach"

Need some run up here.. I mean, the Browns don't have a 1st rounder, we are 2+ months away from NBA draft and Jose is batting under .200.

yeah the drought has begun

Out of the box candidate - Sarunas Jasikevicius. Was one of the candidates to coach the Toronto Raptors after they fired Dwane Casey. Nick Nurse still wanted him badly as an assistant coach. Best childhood friend of Ilgauskas. Widely acknowledged as the best young Euroleague coach. Dragged a team with very little talent and with a budget of only 8 million to the Euroleague TOP4 last season, where they finished 3rd, placing ahead of CSKA Moscow (budget of $30-40 million).
