JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's not getting better this series.

This year has been a throw away for him with his holdout, injury and his daughter(thank god that worked out for the best).

He's said multiple times there's things more important than basketball. His head isn't in it this year and it clearly shows.

Maybe he can refocus this offseason. Who knows. I hope he can.

But for this series, he's done. A
Then we need to stop playing him because he has been killing any chance we have at winning

3 points in two games in the finals and didn't he make our first bucket in game 1?

Given J.R. and the rest of the role players fragility on the road, games 3 and 4 are everything. Trust in history: these G.S. role players are in for a mental challenge on the road in the finals like ours just endured... question is who responds the best.

I disagree, this is a different beast. They have four allstars, two MVPs under 30, a potential DPOY and a lockdown player who can score 30+ in a quarter.

Their role players carry less significance then their CAVS counterparts. Plus Iggy and Livingston are battle tested; those dudes wont be daunted by a road challenge.

Hopefully the change of scenery will lessen KD and Steph, allowing the CAVS to play them closer than 20 points.

I don't buy the personal issues. Isaiah thomas had his sister die and was crying before games but still remained focus during the games. Yes people are different but this just seems like us trying to rationalise a crappy situation.

Anyone who watched JR before he joined knows he has full season dips and also the questions surrounding how focused he can be in non-contract years. He isnt going to start getting the benefit of the doubt just cos he plays on my team. I even wondered how he broke a finger that he was so hesitant to disclose it to the team? Maybe i sound harsh but this is one guy who needs the world on his case to stay focused

Jr has been trash. He isn't mentally focused and he is constantly makes bad decisions on both sides of the court..

The pipe has been the weakest link.

Quite frankly the team was better with Liggins on the floor too bad they cut him.

Smith isn't creating spacing and he is a step behind

I don't blame his personal issues. I honestly think the stage is too big for JR. He shrinks under the spotlight. Dude wants to win. He is one of our most passionate and sometimes idiotic players. Remember his presser after game 7 last year when he cried like a baby and thanked his parents. If he isn't going to lay pipe at least he can lay someone out before the series is over.

The issue is.. he was bad on offense all Playoffs... but made up for it with elite Defense.. now he is not even doing that.. wich makes him useless.

I really think we should start Shump and see if JR can regain something of the Bench.. We cant afford a guy Starting who is a huge liability on BOTH ends right now.

JR's spur of the moment tweet is like when I drunkenly text my ex-girlfriend.

EDIT: And he already deleted it!

We need this JR to have any chance at a comeback.

He limited his dumb fouls tonight, looked aggressive coming off screens, and knocked down his open looks (5-9 from deep).

His +14 was the third best on the team behind only LeBron and Love; and a massive improvement from the -38 overall he was in the first three games.

Keep shooting Swish
