Quite sad for Love.
He's a really great guy and IMO a fantastic basketball player, and he was truly "All In" here. But had a really shitty season and especially playoffs.
There are different factors that played part in such a bad season, but bottom line is we needed him to perform and he didn't.

I would love him to flourish and be a true solid all star for us. But I think this will never happen and it's better for both parties that he moves on. I wish him all the best and hope to see him dominate in another team. Happy he got his ring.

I think it is time for him to move on and see if he can redefine his game. I do believe he has made sacrifices in role and playing style to try to be part of a winning team. I admire that, think everyone should play to win foremost, he probably understands the futility of being a great player on a poor team better than most. I hope he does well where ever he goes and would like to see him on a good team under a coach who pushes ball and player movement, less individual iso reliant, might see an expansion of his game in such a situation.

Would disagree that he had a shitty season, pre IT he was playing some of the very best basketball of his career, then the cycle of injuries killed his momentum. Would credit him for finding something at least against GS, doubted that after his Pacers and Boston series.

I really think, if lebron doesnt end up in houston. love gets traded to houston. just fits that system of dantoni. no defence & spacing.

Love number will be retired here, alongside kyrie.

That would be the worst thing for him imo, he literally would become a rich mans Ryan Anderson at that point. Somewhere like Miami/Utah/Indiana might be best fit for him, solid defensive teams who could do with a little more scoring punch.

Just as an additonal point, why the hell did the Cavs play Love at the 5 all season, with the stated purpose of it being purely with GS in mind, only to disregard it as soon as the finals began? A symptom of the muddled thinking around the Cavs this season, along with the waste of guys like Osman, sticking too long with JR, TT, Clarkson in the playoffs. Timid, weak coaching.

With Capella, CP3, Ariza, PJ they are very capable on D. Ryan Anderson didn't get minutes against the Warriors till injury forced their hand so I can't see them keen on Love. They're built around lengthy 3 and D wings. Love's best fit on a winning team would be a team that is desperate for offense, spacing and has a Dpoy calibre center. Utah would be great. I'm pretty sure whatever team he ends up on, their fans will also be driven nuts by some of his defensive habits

Time to do training at Golden Coral this offseason
You’re a good dude Love and will root for you wherever you end up. Will always appreciate “the stop”.

For your sake, I still hope you remember how delecious a medium rare steak is and indulge yourself more than once in a while. Fat Love > Model Love.

Why I hope OKC will take the bait.

I still think a love for Cj mccullum deal would be great for both sides. CJ would be a lot better as a lead guard. He would be a great fit with Lebron or in a rebuild.

If we do a Love for Mccollum trade, we need to have another trade for a star wing, forward, or stretch 4 of some sort.

PG13 for Love makes sense if LeBron can recruit PG13, outside of that though I don't see any good options for a star wing or forward with trading Love or the #8 pick.

We could trade for McCollum and then fill the hole with a Demarre Carrol or Marvin Williams type player. I just don't know if that makes us that much of a better team. I'd rather just use the #8 pick to get a star guard, keep Love, and find a more athletic backup stretch 4 to help with the Warriors.

He had a really shitty playoffs. The hand injury didn’t help.

.075 WS/48 before tonight (that will drop), 1.0 WS (may drop), -2.3 BPM, -.1 VORP. He played worse than a replacement level, i.e., a 12th man scrub, would given the minutes he got.

That was the #2 option.

Price FTW.. BANG!

Houston played absolutely elite defense against GS and would’ve easily beaten them if CP3 didn’t injure his hamstring, btw Dantoni doesn’t run their defense they brought another coach to do that, forgot his name though

I RARELY ever said anything bad about Love. I appreciated his attitude, and thought he always showed up to work and played his best.

That said, I think we all can agree that regardless of what happens to LBJ, the Kevin Love era is Cleveland is over.

If LeBron leaves. I think you hold on to Love for now. Come back to the season with him as the number one option. And increase his stock around the deadline.

Really think that's how you get the best value for him. I wouldn't rush to trade him.

Just don't think we're going to like the returns. And if LeBron is gone, there's no rush anyways.

Around the deadline, as the number option putting up bigger numbers. And on a short contract.

The Cavs can maybe get a team to cough up a lottery pick.

How much more can you get for an expiring contract anyway?

I don't think his value would improve that much between now and trade deadline.

No way....

You trade him now. Next years draft is garbage anyway.

With his injury history, don't think we can wait. He had a good last series and not sure his value playing on a shit team is going to be higher than it is now.
