Koby Altman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not bad. Now just turn Calderon and Shumpert into Boogie and I'm ready to ride.

Really impressed with this guy already. He certainly did a better job than Pritchard and Foreman got for their star players.

forgot about the haul Indy got for George...Oh wait...

He has done a great job facing the issues. Basically got win now and later players, That says Bron leave and we got our selfs covered or stay and we got assets and one that is golden on the Nets pick.

Regardless of anyone's opinion of IT versus Kyrie, this trade was pretty masterful on Altman's part. Excellent job by Coby.

For face value and basketball reasons alone this trade is a slam dunk winner considering that Kyrie forced all of this to happen.

But on top of that it is a huge win for Altman because of Dan Gilbert's apparent obsession (just my gut feeling) with having someone as short as him playing meaningful minutes on the team he's paying to take the court. In Gilbert's eyes I think that makes Altman the golden child, and the GM for life or until Gilbert sells the team.

I cannot tell if serious. And isn't Gilbert like 5'5? Lmao

You don't think Gilbert has some kind of secret obsession with short guys who can play in the NBA? I sure as hell do.

ETA Gilbert can look guys like this eye to eye instead of eye to belly button.:chuckle:

Agree. I'm sure Gilbert was heavily involved, but it's still a heckuva first trade!

Good job by the new guy. Perhaps Griffin wasn't indispensable after all!

Just as I have said before with Griffin, that he cannot take all the glory or blame because Gilbert and Nate Forbes are HEAVILY involved in the Cavs' moves, same thing for Altman....he deserves SOME of the glory, but so does Gilbert and Nate Forbes.

Its the same reason why Gilbert does not view GMs as highly as important as other teams do.

Here's another consideration- because Altman was able to pull off a trade that is being pretty globally as successful, this act may have a positive effect on LBJ.

He liked Griff, but griff routinely blew through assets to make any deal, and failed to do anything last summer and was failing this year when he was let go.

Having a GM that makes good deals will only be looked at as LBJ as a plus, and resolving this situation in a positive manner can have long term effects on the teams relationship with LBJ.

In short, the Cavs appear to have a pretty damn good GM, which helps the perception if the forint office and ownership.

Also, good job Dan Gilbert. apparently GMs are available out there.

I think koby is just getting started.

From what I understand his insistence on Taytum was what led to the Brooklyn pick being made available.
