A way out there idea just for discussion and for me to likely rack up a ton of negative rep because of my creation of said discussion. I'll be on to collect the decline in rep in the morning.

I would do that in a fucking heartbeat.

So here's my logic. If other posters are correct and there's no way to solve the KI/KLove defense problem, then I think KI is the better player to trade.

He has WAY more fan value and marketability to a franchise and will bring us WAY more in return. Also, KLove adds way more to a LeBron James team because of his floor spacing and rebounding. With the continued emergence of Delly, and how well he fits with the starting unit, I think KI is expendable.

I... Well. Hmmmm I..... fuck. Why am I considering this.

Kyrie Irving for Kyrie Irving in better shape a month from now.

This is my hope, that is why if that trade is offered I wait till the last minute to even think about it. I would consider it but no way the Kings trade Cousins at the dead line unless they fall apart this next month.

This is the real question:

How confident are you that Kyrie will (1) return to form offensively, (2) play at least mediocre defense, and (3) be healthy for the playoffs?

We need all 3.

Has yet to be seen, literally no one can answer those yet...but I'm not trading a 23 year old PG with MVP skill just yet because he is coming off of a serious injury and is still getting back into game shape...he's going to respond exactly like he did the last time we had people daft enough to discuss trading him, and it will be treated just the same as the last time to the posters who did it... @gourimoko is having terrible flashbacks right now...

Got to say though the pace they played from the third and into the fourth with the ball movement was amazing. The pace they played is what they need to to stand a chance against GS and Kyrie was almost there in this game. I am for adding a Morris who I think will happen for sure here and I can see him alone bring down this site alone. So much to think about should be a fun month.

I would love to eat crow on this. I never have a problem saying I'm wrong. I hope it all works out.

But here's the thing...

If the rumors are true, and someone big is on the trading block, I think KI makes a lot of sense. That's all I'm saying. Not saying it's what I want to happen. I'm just saying it makes sense from a certain perspective.

KI doesn't make a lot of sense...if any of the big 3 gets traded, its Love 10/10 times...and there are no rumors about someone big on the block...if a non Cleveland person is saying it, its bullshit...

Hey man, I get it, you like KI. But Love fits this team better if you have to choose between the two.

I don't like KI...I like the Cavs...and I trust our insiders more than anyone else who talks about the Cavs...also, pretty crazy that the member of the big 3 we are struggling to fit into our offense "fits the team better"...but whatever...

That said what do you think about the Ben and Keys kind of hinting at a move. Who do you think we are going after or for? I know our big three will be intact so of course anyone but them.

We are struggling far more to fit KI in the offense than Love. What are you talking about?

When Irving isn't making shots, he's worthless.

When Love's not making shots he's rebounding, passing, and spacing the floor.

Have you been watching the last year and a half? I find it hard to believe that a guy, less than a month coming back from a serious injury that cost him his entire summer, training camp, and preseason to get into game shape, who is coming off of a 21 PPG, 47% FG%, 41.5% 3P% season is "struggling to fit into the offense". Maybe we give the guy more than 17 games? I mean, it's ridiculous we are even talking about this...
