Kyrie Irving Trade Ideas

Has yet to be seen, literally no one can answer those yet...but I'm not trading a 23 year old PG with MVP skill just yet because he is coming off of a serious injury and is still getting back into game shape...he's going to respond exactly like he did the last time we had people daft enough to discuss trading him, and it will be treated just the same as the last time to the posters who did it... @gourimoko is having terrible flashbacks right now...

It's just the height of absurdity.

He's our franchise player.

At the end of last season he certainly was on his way towards being a top player in the league, and we've seen some flashes of that again this season coming off a tremendous injury. There were numerous games last season where Irving was the best player on the floor, yet here we are.

I get why some are being impatient with his recovery; but, impatience shouldn't be confused with intelligence or thoughtful analysis.

I don't think this is even worth discussing since it will never happen. You may as well make a LeBron James Trade Ideas thread, it's almost that far fetched.

Anyway, I'm sure the usual suspects can use this as their dumping grounds to hate on Irving, and maybe the Irving thread can be free of this bullshit moving forward.

I'll leave you guys to it.

That said what do you think about the Ben and Keys kind of hinting at a move. Who do you think we are going after or for? I know our big three will be intact so of course anyone but them.

"Hinting at a move" doesn't mean one of the big names is on the block...

Don't give me any ideas Gouri. I can do some wicked things with the Trade Machine.

Now is not the time for impatience either...we were worse off at this point in the season a year ago, and we saw where that led...I have a lot of faith in this team hitting its peak heading into the summer, which is when you want to be peaking...

I would love to eat crow on this. I never have a problem saying I'm wrong. I hope it all works out.

But here's the thing...

If the rumors are true, and someone big is on the trading block, I think KI makes a lot of sense. That's all I'm saying. Not saying it's what I want to happen. I'm just saying it makes sense from a certain perspective.

LeBron would shit a brick if Irving were traded for anything other than a 20+ PPG combo guard, which is what he needs.

He needs a healthy Irving a whole lot more than he needs a healthy Kevin Love.

But either way, neither of these guys are getting traded.. There is 0% chance Irving gets traded this season. It's not going to happen.

I'm fine with the trade threads being open and people discussing it here if only because I now believe the Cavs are willing to go crazy and make panic moves. IF they're willing to fire their coach at 30-11, I don't think it's completely beyond the realm they trade a big name player. I could see hitting the panic button and doing it.

Yeah...I too can see that...but it wouldn't be Kyrie, it would be Kevin...why this thread makes no sense...the biggest reason, player wise, LBJ came back was Kyrie...

I know I am asking who do you think is other than the bog names or what is possible?

There's 12 other guys on the roster. If any of Tristan, Smith, Delly, Moz, Shump, or AV were traded - that would be considered a "big" move.

There's just no way Griffin trades away Love after trading Andrew Wiggins to get him. Wiggins could have gotten us almost anyone in the league. You don't trade Wiggins in one year for a guy you ultimate trade for Jae Crowder.

Kyrie Irving is a superstar. You don't trade 23-year old superstars on team-friendly contracts.

Guys in here are looking at Kyrie only within the confines of this season, while he's recovering from injury. It's simply ridiculous. Look at Irving last season. He was our second best player, and offensively, he was arguably the most effective scoring option we had.

You don't trade a guy like that unless you know you're getting better not only now but in the foreseeable future.

Thank you.

I keep repeating this over and over.

I'm NOT saying that this is what I want to happen. I'm merely saying that it is a possibility. Given what we've seen from Griffin, I think it's possible that either Love or KI could be moved.

POSSIBLE is not the same as PROBABLE.

Trade threads are supposed to be more open crazy possibilities. I admit this is crazy, but at the same time it makes some sense.

But it's not, that's what people are saying...Kevin would be traded 10/10 times before Kyrie got moved, plain and simple...

Got it. Point made.

Can we go back to our crazy trade thread now? Because that's all this is. Get over it.

Exactly. If Irving gets back into his midseason form from last year, we will be right there with the Warriors, and IMHO, ahead of the Spurs.

I think people forget just how good we were last season, even while playing hero ball.
