Kyrie Irving Trade Ideas

I am not accusing anyone of not watching basketball.

I will say I don't believe anyone could have watched tonight's spurs vs GS game and not see how absolutely useless Kevin Love is to our team.

Golden state destroyed the spurs in similar fashion to how they beat us. The Spurs bigs could not defend Draymond. They also didn't do a great job of scoring on him. He is the key, the engine that makes Golden State go.

The Warriors have eliminated the traditional power forward. You cannot play one against them. It just won't work. They still play centers but the PF is always a super athletic, large, wing player.

The only place for a guy like Love would be at Center until the death lineup rolls out with Draymond at center and then we cant play him at all. Love at center is a shit show though, because he provides ZERO rim protection.

The only way we are going to beat the Warriors is playing a lineup that can match them.

I really hope Griffin sees this. I hope he knows this guy is worthless vs the team we are most likly to see in the finals.

Lebron is going to have to play PF, maybe start there in a 7 game series with Golden State. I know he wont play there every night, but he has to in the finals.

We need more tough, athletic defenders who can hit 3s. We can't afford to play guys who are complete non factors on offense either.

This is one of the best NBA teams Ive ever seen since the Jordan Bulls. I don't remember watching a team play with my jaw open like this.

Griffin has his work cut out for him. Kevin Love needs to be turned into at least 2 solid pieces.

@Rich here you go buddy...in the Kyrie Irving thread...

wtf is this thread?

Do people realize that trading elite talent -- I understand that Kyrie hasn't looked great since coming back -- makes it harder to win it all? I also understand that Love and Kyrie are a PnR problem against Golden State and San Antonio. But trading them, and lower our overall talent level and having to entirely reconfigure how we play basketball, makes it that much more difficult to come out of the East. These trade scenarios are absolutely asinine.

If the Cavs trade either Kyrie or Kevin for a package of discontents and/or talent-no-more-than-all-star-level it will be the end of a championship hopes this season. I get it, we're Cleveland fans and we don't know what a winning team looks like, but no excellent team trades superstars for discontents and/or role players. It sets your franchise back years.
It's a meaningless trade thread.

I trade Kyrie for 2 PGs at this point...Curry and Westbrook...I trade him for 1 big...Ant Davis...I'm with you, I'm out of here...can feel the ulcer forming already...

yeah i dont get the Kyrie stuff. He sucks now but at least I've seen him play in a way that works for our team. Kyrie played better defense than Kevin did last year.

Kevin plays decent positional defense but he's always been horrible in every other scenario. He needs to ball too much on offense. He'll never get what he needs here. He wants the ball on the block where Lebron wants most of his offense now. Kev hasnt been very efficient here, ever. He's been pretty damn streaky.

Game 1 of the NBA finals Kyrie Irving:

23pts 6asts 7rbs 4stls 2blks

Ooooh. I'm scared.

Like I said, I have no problem saying I was wrong. Afterall, we're just bullshiting about a meaningless athletic event.

I don't give two shits if my future prediction about the Cavs is wrong. You seem to be really bothered by it.

You should be...have you seen how Gouri debates and replies to people? Like reading a dissertation...:chuckle:

Look, I have no problem with you having a thread to discuss potential trades...I don't really care...I just care that you think its a possibility...just trying to save you the time based on what I have heard from some of our more reputable posters....guess in the future I'll stop doing that...

Thanks but no thanks.

It's a meaningless discussion about possibilities in a meaningless trade thread.

A fun discusion--nothing more. If you can't see that, oh well.

Again, it would be meaningless if you didn't say there's a possibility...if its meaningless, there is no possibility...

I'll let you go back to the meaningless with possibility discussion now...

I honestly think you don't know the difference between the words possible and probable. Yes, you're right it's very improbable and I don't see it happening.

But you can't say it's impossible.

Speculation is fine.. I'm not opposed to it... I just feel there's better uses of effort, like how we can turn the rest of our assets not named Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving into good trades for the Cavaliers. I think that's more fun because it's more thought provoking.

To me, it's just too easy to say "Kyrie for whatever," because there's only a few guys in the league that teams wouldn't trade for Ky straight up.

Anyway.. I've said my peace, and I'm somehow still in the thread.. :chuckle:

Yeah it is fun to thing bigger but if I tried to pick out what is realistic at this time I would go insane. So much more could come up for but heck I am already insanse so why not :chuckle:

This thread is clearly a trolling attempt going after the rather small, but very passionate "Trade Kevin Love" Camp. :D

Not wasting my time this time around...

At least the nonsense is separated into its own thread now.

Carry on.

What are the odds that Kyrie is even healthy going into the playoffs let alone making it through the playoffs into the finals without injury?

Not good, IMO.

As tough as it would be to trade the one guy who has otherworldly offensive talent, you do it for the right player 10/10 times.

And who's the "right player" that's currently "available?"

I'd bet a large amount of coin that SAC is not moving Boogie. Let's move on from that. Is CP3 the right player? Who's to say that he's healthy during the playoffs too? There's way to many what ifs and they don't add up to trading a talent like Kyrie. Do we all forget what he did last year against the Spurs in San Antonio? Do we forget how well he played at limited ability in Game 1 of the Finals? Let him get healthy, his wind back, etc. and I believe that we will see the same type of player that we've enjoyed the last few seasons.

But it's not, that's what people are saying...Kevin would be traded 10/10 times before Kyrie got moved, plain and simple...

completely disagree. First i dont think either one of them get traded just so i make that clear.

that said i can very much come up with a scenario in which kyrie gets traded namely it involves a certain PG on the clippers.
