LeBron being LeBron

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Lebron winning a ship will only cause his big head to inflate even more with ego and he will say something so stupid ( most likely bashing his haters or the CAVS ) that he will only be hated more. The Kobe reference is kind of valid in my opinion because I hated Kobe until the Lebacle and now I like him as his team is the most likely to beat the Heat. Embrace the enemy of my enemy.

Exactly my point. Kobe has won a bunch of titles- do people hate him less?

So it's slang.

I will now begin typing up my sentences using "dis" and "fo sho" and trying to convince people that these are actually words.

Use regardless, instead. Wait, that's from the notes that you posted. :chuckles:

yet you can be "repping" Ohio right? How about you use representing or is slang only ok when YOU feel like using it?

glass houses...stones...etc....:jerkoff:

Just don't use "nonstandard" and "illogical" words when trying to convince people in your arguments, is all. No harm done, just helping you out, kiddo. :)

Why not just say "regardless"? Wasn't looking to get into a grammar war, but that is the correct word to use. "regardless" is the word people are looking for when they grab "irregardless" out of thin air.

Why not just ignore it? You're trying to fight a 90 year old battle that was lost long ago. :)

Not for me ... but yet people sure are buying a lot of his shoes and jerseys. One thing is there's always people coming along just getting in to the game who aren't aware of, or don't care about his past. And of course kids like LeBron who just want to attach themselves to whatever seems the coolest/the best.

Because the Lakers have legions of bandwagon fans, just as the Miami Heat will also have.

Kobe situation is on a more personal level while we all know that Lebron is on a proffesional douche bag level. Kobe is still hated but he is respected for his rings and work ethic. Sure there will be bandwagon jumpers because we have seen them from even so called CAVS fans.
Even Lebron sympathizers lack respect for the individual and just see him as a great talent. No matter what he does he has pissed off to many people and he will be critized constantly. I bet Kobe will see a dramatic increase in his endorsments and jersey sales due to this.

WFNY Exclusive: Andy Baskin Talks Post-LeBron Media Coverage

When I wrote the earlier article about the quietness in reporting on LeBron’s ending with the Cavaliers, I decided to reach out to Andy Baskin because I liked his article about how the media had been fooled or missed all the warning signs of what LeBron truly was. I asked him for a bit of a post-script on what his current thoughts were considering his original post. If all these reporters had such an epiphany after the words “South Beach” were uttered, why hadn’t they finished the story now?

Andy read my email with some questions in it and really went above and beyond the call of duty in answering. Here is what I heard back.

(First on the orignal reporting of the story…)

I can tell you in 20 plus years in both TV and radio, LeBron’s story was the most exhausting story I have ever worked on. The pressure to keep turning stuff, not just day to day, but minute to minute because of the internet was exhausting. Pressure was on all of us to turn any information as fast as we could. This story showed the power of the internet and social media, like none other.

(On the apparent slow-down in coverage of LeBron’s final moments in Cleveland…)

I’m not sure that the slow-down of coverage isn’t anything more than the bi-product of the fact that LeBron made his choice. I think at some point the heat will be turned back on. It will be around December 2, 2010. When LeBron returns to Cleveland. If he doesn’t pull a Carlos Boozer and have an injury problem before the only regular season match-up this year.

(On the fans and how divisive LeBron has become…)

It’s hard to swallow but the publicity this has brought the league has more people talking about the product than ever before. Now, everyone seems to have two choices. Love him , or root for the big 3, to be the big failure.

Most people have a bottom line respect factor. You know, ” I hate the guy, but damn he’s good.” When that guy gets banged up those people always say, ” I never want a guy to miss time because of an injury.” I have honestly had people tell me that they hope LeBron has double ACL tears, or other career ending injuries.

(On Dan Gilbert not following up on his threat to tell the story…)

I think it plays out like this. Dan Gilbert probably wants to put an end the LeBron era. Good luck trying to find his picture anywhere in the building. He said what he wanted to say at the time, now he just wants to build a championship team. I’m sure that people around him have told him that the more he talks now he puts himself in the position of being a villian. Right or wrong nobody wants to get called out on the race card.

When a national analyst is ripping LeBron for his actions, Dan Gilbert’s message is coming across without having to say another word. At some point Dan Gilbert will talk. I just think the league is making money off of LeBron no matter where he plays, so Gilbert won’t say anything, now.

(On players not breaking the silence yet regarding the Boston series…)

When you talk about the players, I don’t expect anybody younger than him to say a bad word about LeBron. They look at him the way the older generations look at Michael Jordan and Dr. J. Younger players look up to LeBron for what he does on the floor and the way he has been marketed. As we move forward i’m not going to be surprised if Shaq or older players might say something about his actions. Imagine the book Shaq can write talking about what he thinks of Kobe and LeBron, when he finally retires. Imagine how many copies it will sell.

I have had this conversation with many people about the Boston series. LeBron tanked it, or LeBron choked. It is the overwhelming response I get when people are talking to me about what happened. This is from people I trust and respect, not just Clevelanders.

(On the story now that some time has passed…)

I often sat in the stands thinking, “One day we are going to miss this guy.” I never thought he would go on national tv for his divorce with Northeast Ohio. But, I never though LeBron was in love with playing in Cleveland anyway.

I also think LeBron never thought it would play out this way. He hurt alot of people. I’m not talking about the fans. I’m talking about people in the Cavs organization. Maybe LeBron thought he was going to take all the good things from Cleveland to Miami with him. If he was a professional and moved on like a businessman, he might have had that chance. But, when you burn the man that was writing your checks, he’s going to do everything he can to see you fail. LeBron changed a ton of lives that I think he cared about. I don’t think he ever expected that. Real people, LeBron really crushed.

(So not now, but when?…)

In time, we will get the stories. This story is far from being over. I think it all depends on what happens next. Don’t think that ESPN won’t turn on LeBron at some point. Like I said before, I am sure they had to have struggled with “The Decision.” The ratings proved to be a winner. The question is at what expense? If LeBron ever gets in trouble, everybody will be looking at ESPN to see how they cover it.

Until then, I think more stories are just under the surface. It’s going to take someone to break the “code” to spill the beans.

Thanks to Andy Baskin for the thoughts. As for when we might get some more info, you should have December 2nd circled on your calendars for that one. I know. You already had it circled. Now you have another reason
