**applauds**

Jordan's "second option" averaged 17 points per game for a couple of those rings. The "2nd option" is not as big a deal as the media makes it out to be.

You are telling me Scottie Pippen wasn't a legit second option? Playoffs when the Bulls won 'chips:

First ring: 21.6/8.9/5.8
Second ring: 19.5/8.8/6.7
Third ring: 20.9/6.5/5.9
Fourth ring: 16.9/8.5/5.9
Fifth ring: 19.2/6.8/3.8
Sixth ring: 16.8/7.1/5.2

Quite pedestrian.

Yes. But if Jefferson was available for expirings, I'm almost positive Dallas would jump in and offer Dampier, who is much better than our expirings. Dallas needs help up front bad, and getting a guy like Jefferson for free (essentially) would be huge. A Dirk/Jefferson/Haywood trio in the front court would be one of the best in the league.

So even IF he was available for nothing, I think we'd be outbid.

Yea i think they won't give him away either. Most likely looking for a SG or SF

You would have to do two separate trades. You can't do a three way trade involving a sign-n-trade.

Are you sure? If I remember correctly, that's how the Raps got Hedo last year. Orlando, Toronto, and Memphis were involved.

Or am I mistaken?

There is no way a team is taking on both Iggy and Brand. Philly must know this. I mean, in order to take on two massive contracts, one of those contracts had better be a star. iggy doesn't fall into that category.

True, but goodness knows the Cavs have room on the bench.
Yeah, but running does not bode well for Brand.

I would've considered him under MB. But for a team that runs? Pretty tough to do...that'd be an absolute last resort IMO.

I just got in, can I get quick recap on what happened today.

It looks like they all just swapped players but it's far more complicated than that. It was actually a 4 team deal. Dallas was also involved. It was a couple trades that turned out really to be one big trade. But they had to do separate trades because they couldn't do one big one.

For the two years that I referenced (and you posted), no. Pippe could barely walk by the end of the last one... ddin't matter.

Also, Hakeem won a ring with no "2nd", Duncan won one, the Pistons won one with no "1st option".

There is more than one way to win a championship... "2nd option" is not important.

People may act like they know but they don't. There's been some tweets, some sources but honestly nobody knows anything

Schooled in what way? Making your case in a Kareem>Kobe argument is hardly any more difficult than MJ>Kobe. It's not schooling when the point you're making is pathetically easy in the first place. You're not honestly proud of that, are you?

With that said, I'll try to stay away from Lakers-related discussion as well. What I don't understand is why Rose wouldn't make it painfully clear to Lebron that he wants him. There's really no logic behind him saying he'd prefer Joe Johnson. I hope Windy is right about this, but most of me believes that it's a big misunderstanding. There's no way Chicago could really be so dumb. They already messed up when they told Lebron they won't deal with his posse, now this Rose thing is making it way too easy for us too keep Lebron on the Cavs.

Keep doing what you're doing Reinsdork! :chuckles:

rose is a guy who had his grades changed in hs so he could pass, had someone else take the sat for him, and well, if youve ever seen an interview with him, its painfully obv why those earlier episodes occurred.
