LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not saying the bench isn't terrible, but in this game if LeBron and the rest of the starters played with the same intensity in the 1st quarter that they did in the 4th quarter, they wouldn't have needed to play in the 4th quarter and he'd have played 30some minutes.
They come out slow and allow the opponent to get control of the game and all too often like last night these teams start hitting shots with little pressure and play like they've been in the finals.

Only gonna listen to his bitching about organizational failure when he starts playing hard. Otherwise, boo hoo, its a team and player failure too.

Unusual for Lebron to open up like that to the press. I'm not sure what Griff can do, this is the issue of letting assets walk for nothing. Timo is way overpaid but we gave up two first rounders for him and now have nothing to show for it. Dellly also overpaid but again we lost him for zero value.

Just not much Griff can do at this point without completely mortgaging the future. Guys on minimum salaries are likely going to pick places where they have more minutes or better weather/lifestyle so not so easy getting a Felton or Jones to sign here. Only guys you get are ring chasing vets on their last legs.

It is what it is. We needed to get lucky with some internal development.

Averaging the most minutes in the NBA at the age of 32. At some point fatigue is going to kick in.
Solution: take a pay cut so the team can afford depth. Nothing cracks me up more than the highest paid player in a salary capped league complaining the team is "top heavy."

No shit.

The best player on the planet shouldn't have to take a pay cut. LeBron is worth more to this team than the entire payroll combined.

In your opinion, what's the ideal roster around LeBron?

Nothing special, just something that
In your opinion, what's the ideal roster around LeBron?

I'd like a roster that is not flawed in more or less or areas of the game and that is not old and unathletic. Preferably a roster that will win more than 35-40 games when he is replaced by a league average player by position. I'm not unreasonable, or course its unrealistic to expect Cavs to magically have a supporting cast equal to what the Warriors have for whoever is the best player there after the ***** made his move.

Your first sentence isn't based in any reality in existence. "His sheer presence makes him the best Cavs player on the court." Besides being overly sycophantic, it isn't close to true. Did you watch the game tonight? He wasn't in Kyrie Irvings stratosphere. And that was the real, tangible LeBron. Not just his "presence."

And that's been happening more and more recently. He isn't the best Cavs player every single night by merely existing, and his shitty play tonight cost the team.

His presence in the basketball court, as in playing for the Cavs. And I said almost without exception, of course there are a couple of games in a season this isn't so. Kyrie will have a couple (and Love maybe 1) offensive explosions that will barely surpass LeBron's impact on the court.

That's fine. But then don't complain about the team being top heavy. There's a salary cap. He knows this.

Dear God.

But even with a pay cut we would've been over the cap so it wouldn't have affected how much we could offer free agents

LeBron just made a power play. He basically said 'get something done and do it now'

Would I prefer he did it behind closed doors? Yes. But we don't know if he has tried that and it resulted in nothing.

LeBron is worth the luxury tax Dan is paying. And he's worth the extra 30 million it would cost to bring in another 5 million in salary

Such a bullshit request. He's worth the money he makes on this team.

I don't know what you do for a living.. but if you feel you are swamped at work would you cut lets say 1/4 of your pay so they can add a body to ease your work load?

LeBron pays it forward and pours money into the community and youth probably more than any athlete in the world. Dont ask him to take a paycut.

Then the time to speak up was in the summer. My thing is this. I don't like the hypocritical approach of complaining the front office isn't doing all it can when you aren't doing all you can.

Ill also say this. The only reason Kevin Durant is in Golden State right now AND they were able to keep Iggy and Livingston is because Draymond Green, a player we love to hate, took a pay cut.

You've missed the point entirely. There exists in the NBA a SALARY CAP. As in, there are rules that prevent a team from just spending into oblivion based on the teams total salary. So that little comparison doesn't fly and for him to basically say "just do something" is him playing dumb.
