Regardless of how much you may not like it, they totally follow LeBrons lead.
LeBron has admitted as much.
Many of the players have said as much, guys like JJ and RJ, the no BS , vets, have said as much to the media in the last few years...
Ty Lue has said as much .
It is not uncommon for a guy like LeBron to dictate the way his teammates perform. It happened with MJ, he was relentless on defense during the three peats. He and LBJ are different as well.I will say, LBJ definitely is able to channel the same intensity come playoff time. But chill mode is a real going and if you don't think it affects the effort of everyone else, I think you're missing something that's going down right in front of you.
It will ramp up in the playoffs and the Cavs will be fine. That's why I'm not panicking. It's why LBJ hasn't been moody/angry lately. He knows what's still to come .
I'll even give you an example. Straight from Griff's mouth.
Last season, while Blatt was still the coach, Griffin was traveling with the team. On a road trip, LeBron was loafing defensively and was pretty egregiously not getting back on defense in transition. I think it ended up being like 8-9 times in one game where LeBron basically had us playing 4v5 defensivsly. Griff saw when reviewing the film. He then had to call out LeBron himself to get it to stop. (And it did). It's part of why he ended up firing Blatt. But when calling out Bron, one of Griff's main points of contention was that if LBJ was doing that/allowed to do that, bit only is it actively hurting the team, but how are you going to hold anyone else accountable defensively? It starts at the top. That's how the NBA works. When Bron ratchets up the intensity defensively, so will everyone else. Flat out.
