LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
While we're talking about MVP, this article had me in a special place of rage and laughter

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...iest-most-analytically-correct-mvp-debate-all

TL;DR- No votes for Lebron, Westbrook's triple doubles are meaningless, Curry and Harden are only real MVP contenders

And the TrueHoop guys sincerely mean that

Is there a worse "stat guy" than Jeremias Engelmann? We've already seen multiple hit pieces on Kyrie from him where he skewed stats to fit his argument. In this article he mentions plus minus as the reason to pick Curry and dismisses LBJ as having career lows in blocks and a career high in turnovers. Well what about LeBron's career highs in rebounds and assists, and the fact that even LeBron in his career low in blocks still gets more of them than Steph? To make matters worse he argues that Steph is only playing a "hair" worse than last season, ignoring the fact that Steph is worse in practically every category this year. I mean you can't be a numbers guys and then be selective in which stats you consider.

Also, anybody arguing for Steph to be mvp is just trying to be different in my opinion - he has no case at all. He shouldn't even be on second team all NBA if we are being honest.

LeBron needs 182 points to pass Shaq on the all time scoring list. Should do it in the next 8 games.

Also, hopefully he doesn't have too many more sub 20 point games. I want to see him average 25+ and not drop below (would be the 13th straight year of 25+ which is an NBA record).

This guy is sort of right, but at the same time, the Heat were down a couple times to the Pacers (6 and 7 games series), down to the Celtics (7 games), so it's not exactly steamrolling in some cases. Yes, LeBron's teams do typically turn things up in the postseason. But to say LeBron's team steamrolls everyone for the last 6 years in the east is not completely true.

He also says this isn't the best Cleveland team we've seen, which is both true and really not. It's absolutely the best team when healthy with the way the team is constructed, we just aren't healthy right now.

I don't think we will really have any trouble in the East, but the evidence he brings about "steamrolling" is not really correct... several 6 and a 7 game series is not exactly steamrolling everyone.

I've always said one of LeBrons biggest weaknesses throughout his career is exploiting mismatches. I actually hate when a big guy switches onto him because he shoots a jumper 90% of the time. I don't get why he doesn't just blow by them like Harden did to TT every single time last night.

To add on to what @Heej said about Harden being a better driver, Harden is much better at changing speeds and handling the ball. He's very deceptive, and it's part of the reason he lulls guys into fouls. LeBron just doesn't have that change of pace, nor the handling ability required to shake guys in tight spaces. He really has to get a step on the defender, then use his strength to power through any contact. A lot of times, he's able to do that.

Basically the reason why I don't shitpost in regular season losses anymore. Hell, even on huge winning streaks.

Yeah.. i become so used to it.. With the exeption of maybe 2013 No recent Lebron Team was a dominant Regular Season Team. Yet when healthy you can bet the Team has a good shot at the Title come Finals time.

I am not pleased with our ranking on defense.. but still.. after all those years i just know we will be alot better on both ends in the Playoffs. And with GSW and SA actually looking worse than last year overall if we can get and stay healthy*knocks on every wood in vicinity* i still like our chances. Nothing will be easy but looking back exactly one year i think our odds of winning it all are much better than they where last year at this point.

Yeah there's no way his average drops below 25, he's at 25.9 now and he's just getting into playoff mode.

This stage of the season is a double edged sword, there'll either be close games which increase his minutes but maintain his stats, or blowouts which allow him to rest, but his stats will be hindered. But with the way he's played all season my guess is he'll average over 26ppg

Where's the FT %? :chuckle:

the what percentage? We don't talk about that around here, don't even know what you're talking about.

must be the Fuck That Percentage, 'cause that shit don't matter.

/s

Its almost like LeBron is giving a last ditch effort to average a triple double as well :chuckle:

I don't know where this rebounding has come from. Usually waits till the playoffs.

LOL, great post, was coming here to make the same points. Can you be any more slanted than saying Lebron is on the decline because his stats are worse in blocks and turnovers, without even mentioning all the different areas where his stats have improved tremendously, including career highs in rebounds and assists? And arguing for Curry as better when Lebron has a better effective field goal percentage (more shooting efficiency) and more assists -- supposedly the heart of Curry's advantage over Lebron? Just crazy. Did Lebron sleep with his GF or something?
