LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I still think Lue is doing a poor job managing his mins.

Blah blah blah he hasn't played that many games blah blah lets just secure the win.

All I'm saying is that at 30 and 31 LeBron was dead tired by the end of each finals series. It took every bit of his will to make that Iggy block. People forget that the next play on offense he had no lift left when missing the short shot at the rim.

Lue has to be smarter. I know LeBron has a lot of control, but sit him earlier in the 1st Qrt. Sit him earlier in the 3rd Qrt/for a minute or two of the 4th.

Its all good destroying the east. However, I remember that oh shit moment when I started to realize LeBron has run of gas in 2015 vs. the Warriors. I remember praying Kyrie made a shot because LeBron looked so winded in game 7.

We're going to need LeBron fresher than the previous years imo. Again not trying to be a buzzkill. It just boggles my mind how Lue/LeBron? aren't thinking big picture.

Man, I'm biased as fuck but Joe Tait described plays so much better than John Michael, Joe actually gave me chills on a play like that.

I really do miss Tait because I didn't get my fair shake listening to him. Current Cavs radio is blah to me now.

Same here. Michael's "Hee... [awkward pointless pause] knocks it down" is so annoying and un-catchy.

I don't think the Abbott piece is so bad honestly, I see it as a general

That's right. Seeing how brilliantly Lebron played yesterday (after 8 days of rest) should make you more motivated to control his minutes, not less. We need yesterday's version of Lebron if we are going to win it all. Lebron is always a great player but when he is fatigued he loses a bit of his edge and can't always function at the GOAT level. We need as much of GOAT Lebron as we can get, and we need to avoid the walking-it-up-the-court dribble-aimlessly-launch-a-3 Lebron we sometimes get in the fourth quarter after he has played 45 minutes for a couple of games in a row.

It's clear Lue doesn't agree with this and Lebron himself has a hard time admitting when he is functioning just a step below his best, even though I would argue that the evidence is there for an unbiased observer of his game. So we'll see what happens. I just hope we sweep this series and Washington-Boston batter each other silly for 7 games so he gets another rest.

LeBron looks the best physically he has since he has come back.

Windy was on RBS with Zach Lowe today and apparently at practice all the Cavs people and players have been whispering "LeBron was a MONSTER in practice this week, and a monster in workouts".

There's this climbing exercise, or something. And Kyle Korver is apparently a workout maniac. Always crushes everyone everywhere he goes. Anyway, they were doing this exercise and everyone was gassed ,even Korver was gasping for air...and then there was LeBron, just absolutely CRUSHING it, barely breaking a sweat.

The reason LeBron was tired in 2015 was because he was dragging the team with no Kyrie and Love through everything. Love was hurt in round 1 , Kyrie was in and out all playoffs and then was out for good in the finals. JR got suspended. Delly wore down after game 3.

Then last year, you're really telling me Bron was out of gas? After going down 3-1...he went 41/41/30pt triple double. He didn't miss late because he was worn down, he just tightened up like everyone else did. He was an absolute maniac defensively and on the glass and with the chasedown...

LeBron is fine. He played 41m last night and probably coasted the last 7-9 minutes. He spent the whole year not trying on defense so that he could play over 40 a night in the playoffs. Lue did exactly what he should have. The Raptors only made one run in the second quarter.

If we can end this series in 4 or 5 games with LBJ playing 40-45 minutes, it would be way better than going 6-7 with him playing 36-38 minutes.

You make some good points here.

Especially with the bolded i think this is actually the plan. I think Lue & Bron and Lebrons trainer actually went "Well lets rather sweep the east or play 14 Games max until the finals with Lebron going 42 Minutes rather than losing and thus having to play 2 or 3 Games more because we limited Lebron to 38 Minutes"

If they manage to win this Series in 4 or 5 and next Series too it really has benifits..
The 120(around 3 Games of 40 Minutes) Minutes Lebron does not have to play because they finished TOR and one of BOS/WAS in 4 or 5 Games compared to 6 or 7 are so much more than the 2 or 3 More Minutes of rest we would want from him..

The only problem would be if he continues to play 40+ Minutes and they still have to go 6 or even 7 then its a horrible idea.

They are taking a risk here.. but a rather well calculated one.. The equation is simple: With Lebron on the court nobody can beat us.. with him sitting we are really bad.. So by playing him 2 or 3 Minutes more than we would want its much more likley we save 2 or 3 whole Games over the next two Rounds..

So far it has worked out.. Lebron has played 5 Games in two weeks now and lets say we win in 5 against TOR it will be 9 Games in about almost a month.. this is easy for any Proffesionall Basketball Player and Lebron is surely not "any" ..

Also his Regular Season Minutes are also dramatised a bit too much.
He Played 37.8 Minutes but sat 8 Games. Take those 8 Games x 37.8 and stretch this over 82 Games he would have played around 34 Minutes per Game. Wich is basically a number we all could live with.

Its just a different approach.. instead of a few minutes rest in every Game rather rest a whole Game.. He is No 1 In MPG but only 10th in Total Minutes in the RS. Its the same this Playoffs.. hes No 1 in MPG but not even in the Top 10 of Total Minutes..

Ive said it time & time again, its about minutes played. This season Lebron played 2,797 minutes. That is the 3rd lowest of his career (lockout season aside). That number is all that really matters.

For the playoffs its the same thing as @InBoobieWeTrust stated above. While he is playing 43 MPG now, you have to know that we will be more than likely playing 2-3 less games this season and its better to keep someone down while you can, than to let them sneak a win in and force an additional game. The rest will be there at the right time.

Agree completely. Last year at the end of Game 7 of the Finals, when Kyrie hit the biggest shot in the history of the Cavaliers, John Michael's call of it was absolutely cringe-worthy.

Oh my Allah.

Ya'll gotta STFU about his mins already.

Also as far as wear and tear on LeBron goes, we can look at minutes, games played, days of rest, etc. Another interesting stat I found is that he's covered 1.25 miles in 5 games so far.

Most in the playoffs (before tonight's games) was Beal at 1.27 miles in 7 games.

I think Larry Bird told Lebron he wants his shorts back.

LeBron should go with the super short shorts in the Finals just to fuck with the Warriors.

Part of me wonders if he isn't doing it for dramatic effect, but because he needs to take a breath first :chuckle:

Edy Tavares taller than the Versa-climber lol
