LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LeBron to Philly rumors incoming.

Real talk though...if LeBron really did leave the Cavs (and I still don't think he will for a number of reasons) the Sixers make a lot of sense. They have so much young talent, essentially limitless cap space to bring a couple of key free agents, and they play in the horrible Western conference. Certainly makes a lot more sense than joining the Lakers and perennially getting bounced in the first or second round.

Absolutely.

In terms of basketball decision, which imo what LeBron values the most other than his family and close friends, Spurs makes the most sense other than Cavs. After that its Philly.

No one else is close.

If Embiid and Simmons both stay relatively healthy and them +Fultz have stellar years then I definitely see it happening. Also, Saric is a great young player along with Covington. O'Connell reminds me of Delly too. They could really use a few vets, especially LeBron to help mold them. I live and I'm from Philly so of course I want him here should he leave.

Put LeBron on the Sixers and add his effect to their team and theyd be in finals.

That's so crazy to think LeBron means that much to a team but he does. I bet a team with guys that young and athletic could play some amazing defense as well.

Holy crap I just looked at their roster and they've added some really nice vet pieces to that team. Splitter, Reddick, Staukuss, Simmons, embiid and okafor coming back healthy AND cap space.

If im Philly im making a huge splash in FA next year and trying to sign a guy and trade for another guy.

Not enough shooting on Philly for LeBron to play there. Plus after his experiences the last 7 years (Miami/Cleveland) he wouldn't want to play on a team with guys who get hurt even more.

On paper it does look fantastic though. Still don't see it happening.

I have no doubt that whatever they lacked upon his arrival, LeBron would somehow recruit guys to help those weaknesses. If they get LeBron theyd make trades and I guarantee shooting would be the last thing they lack at the start of the season.

Say what u want about Bill Simmons (I find him swarmy and self-indulgent) but his commentary about NBA insiders believing LeBron is playing for the Lakers next year is legit.

Very few people see him re-upping in CLE, and believe he will want to fade to black in LA on a power-team.

So we will see what ultimately happens, but I know I'm of the belief he's gone. We've got next year to Win a title, and then we are onto a new plan centered around Kyrie and our assets.

I tend to agree. There's a lot of smoke behind this one:

-LeBron's refusal to commit to the Cavs beyond this year.
-LeBron buying a big house in LA.
-LeBron enrolling his kids in private school in LA.
-LeBron starting to think about the next chapter (ie acting, entertainment, business) in his life.

Here's my big, bold prediction on what happens next summer with the Lakers & I'm guessing this has already been discussed amongst the principles:

-Lakers fire Luke Walton & hire John Calipari as head coach.
-Lakers sign LeBron, John Wall, Boogie Cousins, & Paul George or perhaps another Kentucky player or two. LeBron would take a discount to make this happen.

Anyone else getting the feeling that we've been down this road with LeBron before??

The thing the Cavs are already looking at is what type of assets they can get back in a sign and trade. The shitty thing is the assets the Lakers have don't really work well with what we already have.

Lonzo Ball ain't Kyrie. Julius Randle ain't Kevin Love. Nice assets but they don't really move the needle for us. If Cavs can do a sign and trade where we can address holes, the end game should
be to take the loss of LeBron at SF and replace him with an upgrade at multiple positions.

They're already exploring it but it gets complicated because 3rd teams would need to be involved.

I will shit in my hand and smack myself in the face if that happens... They aren't firing Walton and they'll be lucky to get 2 of those players if that

I call Bullshit....and the Cavs would take back Lonzo not Lavar back in a second if it came to that ... You make him guard SG with his size and play him and Kyrie together ... But once again I don't think there is any validity to your post

LeBron is not leaving CLE for Philly.

It's for the Lakers or we get him long-term. And that's it.

Lakers have created the cap room to let him dictate other FA moves, it's in a market he has a shitload of equity built into, and it's a franchise reporting into a guy in Magic he respects.

Listen, LeBron can wind his careeer down in Cleveland constantly convincing guys to come to CLE to chase rings, or he can go to LA, watch guys line up to play for them, and finish his career in a city he actually wants to grow his business in.

Like, the Cavs aren't stupid.....they know what's going on. And they're treating this off-season appropriately.

Need to ship Kevin Love for Paul George at next year's trade deadline just in case. I don't see Lebron leaving if George is signed to an extension.

The thing is I still question whether or not Cleveland is a desired location for star free agents. Even with LeBron here it seems that Cleveland is consistently overlooked.
