LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Kyrie asking for a trade will actually help our odds of keeping LBJ.

If we can flip Kyrie for a well balanced squad that isn't going to bolt after the end of this season, then LBJ will stay.

Why would LBJ want to go to the West? He already gets all the marketing and publicity he will ever need. He already has Hollywood coming to him whenever he wants. And if the Cavs put a great team around him, he's guaranteed to go to the finals for the next couple years.

LBJ wants to win another ring. If the Cavs give him the best shot at doing so (aside from him joining GSW), then LBJ will stay. Period.

Kyrie basically is basically asking for a divorce without talking to his significant other. If I'm LeBron I am livid. This could become Durant-Westbrook, part 2. In fact, I kinda hope it does. Wherever Kyrie lands, LeBron is gonna look to stick it to Kyrie anytime he playable him.

LeBron is still no guarantee to return...far from it. I think Savannah is ready to move to LA with the kids. Let's see what happens...

I think one thing that has to be said is I think we'll get a sign and trade out of Lebron when he leaves. LeBron is notorious for not leaving money on the table. Hell be 33 next offseason and you know he aint leaving that supermax on the table. So well either sign him to the deal and trade him for players to the team he wants to play for, or he may just stay. Everyone is so sure hes leaving and I just cant see it happening. He makes more money here and LeBron at 33 probably cares more about money than LeBron at 27. And even without Kyrie we have the best roster in the East, when you factor in whatever we get for Kyrie. Also Love and whoever we get most likely wont be old so hed still have a nice window here to at least make the finals. But then again Kyrie just left the chance of a supermax on the table to get away from LeBron so you never know these days. Kyrie's agent is probably pissed lol

Now if he does leave I can see the reasoning be that he no longer wants to tarnish his legacy. If LeBron is sitting at 9 finals appearences but only 3 wins, I have to imagine that would wear on him, because he fully admits hes chasing MJ. If he finally gives up on that goal a team like LA makes total sense. Hang with the kids, play for a damn good organization in Luke Walton and Magic. Also you get to play with Lonzo Ball who is going to be special and is the total opposite of Kyrie, but the biggest thing is it would be no pressure no expectation fun.

But then again ANY team LeBron goes to automatically gets title expectations so maybe it wouldn't be fun in LA. Is there really ANY situation he could go to just to have FUN? I think every team hed go to is automatically gonna be in the conference finals. Hes that good. He may be better off staying in Cleveland honestly.

What are you basing those sentiments on ? LeBron will be expected to take the team to the finals wherever he goes. LeBron in his prime has done a lot for Cleveland and Miami. Those are the only 2 places where the fans and the org may allow him to "coast". No way is he going to sign a max contract in LA and coast. The fans and the organization will be livid.

Coasting won't be an issue. Because even when he coasts, he is still one of the Top-3 players in the league.

IMO, the issue with him going to Lakers is, no matter how talented he is, no matter how talented Lonzo and Ingram may become, they just aren't ready to challenge the Warriors. Ingram needs to have a breakthrough season where he shows he can score 20 odd points per game through the entire regular season and Lonzo shows he can be an All-Star calibre PG in few years. If Lakers finish in bottom-3 in the West, I doubt LeBron goes there.

Also, he will go to a team where one of his biggest contemporaries, Kobe is idolized. Plenty of Lakers fans hated LeBron and worship Kobe. Sure, when he goes there, they will love him and all but he would never receive the same level of warmth and worship that he did in Cleveland or even Miami for that matter.

The best thing for LeBron would be to stay with the Cavs. Or should he leave, either go to the team which with his addition has the best chance of defeating the Warriors, which is Spurs or go to a team who really need a saviour of sorts but have good young talented pieces, whic is Philly.

Going to Lakers would just be such a poor thought-out decision imo!

If we get good value for Kyrie then I think Lebron stays and we should continue going to the Finals. Lebron is the key to that more than Kyrie.

As someone above said, Cleveland is the ONLY place he could hope to "coast" since fans here will be eternally grateful to him for his championship.

What we can't afford to do is not get good value for Kyrie.

Thats what pisses me about the whole thing regarding Kyrie.

Its not that I hate him and pissed with him for wanting to leave and be the franchise player. Its that, he told after a couple of weeks the Free-Agency started. The timing has completely crippled us in terms of options!

If he had told us before the draft started, and by that I mean demand the trade, we could have done a deal with the Clippers involving CP3. Getting CP3 here would have given a great chance to retain LeBron for future as well.

Missing on CP3 might not have been a bad thing. I'm eager to see if either CP3 or Melo have noticeable age-related declines this upcoming season that affect their trade value.

Lebron won't waive his no trade clause...no big surprise there......

Melo might be declining but CP3 still looks like he has lots of game left. In fact I think CP3 will have a great year for the Rockets. I think the Cavs missed the boat on that one.

CP3 will have a season ending wrist injury or sprained toe that will keep him from competing or something to that effect..

Melo in the right situation would be fine...

IF LeBron wants to win 1 or 2 more rings, then the best place for him is the Cavs.

As long as Dan keeps a winning team around LBJ, he will stay with the Cavs. LBJ not committing beyond this year has nothing to do with him wanting to leave, and everything to do with making sure Dan keeps spending money on LBJ's running mates.

Everything about LeBron is crafted into a news story.
From what I read Kyrie, did inform the FO that he wanted traded, before the draft.
LeBron is also on the decline, age wise. I actually cant believe Lue had him running our second unit, at his age, its a bad plan.
Every year coasting and rest will be more of a requirement, to keep him fresh and ensure less risk of injury.
He himself has also already said he is too old to start over with another franchise.

If LeBron goes to LA...He will get crucified for losing. They will expect him to be the savior of that organization.
I would imagine LeBron would prefer to lose in the Finals instead of the First Round as would be the case with the Lakers
Even if he teamed up with PG..They're not getting past GS.

He would have to collude with CP3 and PG to abandon their teams in FA and form another Big 3 which would honestly just be funny to watch. I can hear the boos again lol.

In the past I would say that. However, I don't think CP3 will have to work that hard playing in the Rocket's system for D'Antoni. People thought Nash was finished during his Dallas days until the link up with D'Antoni.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Melo wants to come here if Kyrie is not here. I think Melo wanted to play with Lebron and Kyrie. In other words, play with two other stars not one other star. (I'm not including Love)
