LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In the past I would say that. However, I don't think CP3 will have to work that hard playing in the Rocket's system for D'Antoni. People thought Nash was finished during his Dallas days until the link up with D'Antoni.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Melo wants to come here if Kyrie is not here. I think Melo wanted to play with Lebron and Kyrie. In other words, play with two other stars not one other star. (I'm not including Love)

I suspect you're right with Melo wanting to play with Kyrie as well. Melo likely had advance notice Kyrie wanted out when Melo took Cleveland off his list.

FWIW, if Lebron's camp leaked the Irving news, I wonder if it was more to get Derrick Rose to sign than to spite Irving. Going into the weekend it was said Rose would choose between Cavs and Lakers by the weekend. The Lakers were the oddsmaker favorites and then at the last minute just before the weekend, BOOM the Irving news hits, and Rose is delaying his decision. It will be interesting to see if Lebron appears magnaminous towards Kyrie after Rose signs with the Cavs.

True. And Melo is really friends with CP3. He's cool with Lebron but not like he is with CP3. I may not like Harden, but players around the league like him. So the combination of CP3 and Harden is more attractive for Melo. Plus Houston is a nice city to live in. These are all major factors. Ever since Yao played for the Rockets it has been a global attraction for fans.

I don't think Lebron is the one that leaked the information out. I think the Cavs players, staff members, family and friends all knew. People talk whether intentionally or not. Kyrie's team is foolish to think they can demand a trade and it will not eventually get out. Lebron is a big name, but he is not the only one who can leak information. Other agents who are part of trading deals talk too. The media loves headlines. There is no media grabbing headline than Lebron James.

Look, it's baseball season and no one gives a dam. The NBA has taken over the headlines in the off-season. People that don't even like basketball want to know what's going on.

What is all this Melo stuff? He didn't remove the Cavs from his list.

I just listened to a Denver podcast with Adam Mares. He was of course coming from the Denver side and needless to say thought Kyrie to Denver would be great as long as they don't drain the roster of all of their youth. He went over too many trades for me to mention, but one in general I warmed up to. He claims Phoenix is on a total youth movement and prefers building toward the future. (and would like to rid the team of 30 & over)
This is a 3 team trade.

CLE - Bledsoe Faried Harris and Chandler ( just nervous about Harris only for one year - could take Murray) This would be a good combination of youth & veterans to add.

DENVER - Irving Shumpert TJWarren - they are somewhat thin at SF, hence Warren. It would be up to them to resign him. (on last yr of contract)

PHOENIX - Mudiay Murray Frye - they have been interested in the expiring contract of Frye. Two young guards both under contract for 2 and 3 years.

He could not praise Harris enough.

Cut Phoenix out of this deal and take Harris and Murray.

What would Melo's reasoning behind playing with a score 1st point guard be? That's less shots for him. If we pick up a defenselive minded point guard who can score the ball and dish out assists I think that opens the door up for Melo more than it was before. Also, Melo is not going to choose Kyrie over LeBron, LeBron is the reason that we are on the list in the first place.

Sources say if James was in front of Irving, he would be tempted to kick his ass...

If memory serves me, I heard cavs and heat fans saying the exact same thing at one point. The irony.........

I don't think Melo minds that as much at this stage of his career with how his first choice the Rockets have two even more ball dominant players in Harden and CP3. Being in a good situation with friends seems to matter most to Melo now.

Whether or not that's true, it looks like Lebron may be too prideful to try magnaminity:

...which is too bad. One would think even the transactional side of Lebron would realize the value of giving the situation a chance to aid Irving's trade value for the good of the team.

I think this is all a ploy to get Melo here or Snag a KAT or "try" as that will never happen. However to those teams the they mentioned one might out bluff and we might get the Melo Zingas deal we wanted if Minny even maybe they will give KAT the Knicks might pull it. This really pits two common trade partners against each other here. Ky wants to be the star "knick" Ky and Butler really want to play together "Minny" They both have young talent they could send our way and Knicks Have Melo.

It is a smart play that he picked four teams with either win now players or young talent. Kind of his way of saying I will try to help get what you want. This also then makes outside teams more interested in the players that are giving them issues say Boggie in NO if that does not pan out. It opens doors but the more you hold him his value drops even more for no interested destinations and gains more in interested destinations. This is why my gut feeling is we end up with Carmelo and maybe not Zingas as well but some fine fillers

Sorry if this was mentioned before (too long thread), but is this the moment LeBron told Simmons about the Irving trade request? Could this indicate that LeBron's camp was the actual -- intentional or not -- leak of the news?

It's now being rumored that Billups was told during his interview process that Kyrie did not want be with the Cavs. Billups works for ESPN. I'm not saying Billups was the leak. However, I think it's ridiculous to pin everything on Lebron when it seems that several people knew about Kyrie wanting to leave.

At the end of the day, I have no problem forcing Kyrie to come back and face the team and Lebron.

I think Kyrie owes it to his teammates to give them an explaination. I think us fans dont need an answer but the guys who were in the trenches with him covering for him on defense and riding planes and busses with him deserve an explaination
