Why did Ben Simmons tweet that, and since when have Simmons and LeBron been close?
 
The whole Banana Boat crew with the exception of Melo (Who will have one yr left on his contract and will probably be bought out) become free agents next year. The reason LeBron wont give any assurance of staying after next year is because the whole banana boat crew plan to play together with whichever city will take them all. Now they wont beat Golden State but they will attract a lot of people to come watch them play so some cities may be tempted to offer to take them. How much they will get paid (if they take pay cuts to attract a reasonable bench) and if an owner is willing to pay taxes for a bunch of old guys that is unlikely to beat Golden State remains to be seen. They could be competitive if they stay in the East but will be blown away in the West.

Exactly. What he did was foul. Even KD when he left Westbrook did not trash the team. This is really a jerk move. There's nothing wrong with leaving. However, he doesn't have to trash Lebron in the process. The other players probably thought he was cool with them too but he doesn't give a F***. Just leave without bashing Lebron.

And out of all people he wants to get advice from Kobe? There's not too many players who were doing back flips to play with Kobe.

But from the quotes I saw, it looked like he embarassed himself more than he killed LeBron.

I listened to that rant. He gave LeBron a platform to defend himself--and basically hinted at other well known things as well...

He said a lot without saying anything.. First one I've seen really just get tired of LeBron's act and called him out on it...

I thought it was pretty unprofessional. This is the second time I remember him essentially threatening a player - he did it before with Durant when he was in OKC.
