Think LeBron needs 2 rings to be the GOAT. Getting to 5 would without a doubt eliminate Kobe from the number 2 conversation maybe even at 4 he kicks Kobe out. At only 3 I’m still seeing a lot of people bring up Kobe and literally Kobe did nothing better than LeBron other than score more points on way more shots. But ppl suck Kobe’s dick so hard it’s gonna be hard to overcome that without another ring or 2.


So let’s say Bron gets 2 more rings and ends with 12 finals appearances. In 20 years no one will talk about his failures because that’s what we do in sports. No one talks about MJ losing before Pippen. We talk about 6 rings. So Bron ain’t getting to 6 rings. But he can reach a number say 12 to 14 finals appearances. If he got there this season that’s 9. So if he can somehow get there every year for the next 3-5 years(Basically how long he should still be a great player), he’ll end up with a good amount of rings AND a crazy amount of finals appearances. At this point he will also have ALL the important scoring records. So he’ll be the best player ever statistically and he’ll have 5 rings. At that point getting to the finals so many times will overshadow 6/6. The sheer volume of appearances will weigh on people to a point where ppl start thinking.....”hmmm would MJ had lost a couple times if he went to 14 finals? Hmmm MJ was getting booted out of the playoffs so much he didn’t get the chance to rack up finals losses. LeBron has 5 rings and double the appearances as MJ with worse teams than MJ had. Although to be fair I absolutely do put Wilt and Kareem in the same tier as MJ and Bron. KAJ's raw records and longevity are something, as are Wilt's raw records. I know that Wilt played mostly against 6'6 slow, skinny centers, and lost more than he won against Russell, but the level of raw dominance should transcend training/nutrition/etc differences.

Kobe was ass in that finals and straight up selfish the way he played. Pau Gasol was actually their best player in that series. He was fantastic!

He had to go against Kevin Garnett and outplayed him. He should have been finals MVP.

His game score card was 18.6 and Kobe's was 18.7. But Kobe's usage rate was way higher.

Gasol's - ORtg - 122 - DTtg - 101

Kobe's - ORtg - 108 - DTtg - 99

Kobe's usage rate was 35.6% compared to Gasol's just 21%, yet he was still more impactful than Kobe.

Kobe is lucky to have so much help throughout his career to win him titles.

Think about it. His fuckin' usage rate is 14% higher yet the second best player was STILL more impactful than him.

Kobe has always been overrated.

A selfish basketball player that doesn't make anyone better. A volume/inefficient scorer that his this suppose killer instinct the media falls in love with.

Kobe fans don't want to compare him to LB. Because LB destroys him in every category.

Impact, winning, numbers, literally, everything...

Durant is what a true unselfish player looks like. He’s 7 foot tall and could easily average 10 boards and 7 assists but he knows that would come at the cost of his teams ball movement. Dude has 1 assists VS the Rockets because he’s done by what his coach is telling him exactly. KD Is what a player looks like wh truely doesn’t care about stats. LeBron and Westbrook is what a player looks like that is trying to post great numbers.

Really? I don't hear anyone with credibility mention Kobe ahead of LeBron at this point. It almost seems ridiculous to even consider it. Kobe got dispatched by OKC in round 1 in 5 games at age 32 and never played another playoff game in his career. He was only the best player on 2 of his 5 championship teams and the NBA was an absolute joke during his run with Shaq.

Comparing their greatest playoff achievements isn't that close either. Kobe's victory over Boston was great but can't compare to LBJ taking down the Warriors. In that sense, not even Jordan has a comparable feat.
