Shouldn't he be in like Brazil or something by now?
 
If the Cavs trade Love for a better fitting star and either trade #8 or draft a very good player, the Cavs roster will be more appealing than the Lakers and 76ers. I just can't imagine Lebron wanting to start all over again at the age of 33. Who on the Lakers is going to ball out vs the Warriors? Kuz? Ball? Pope? Ingram? These guys don't know how to win plus it would take 2 seasons to get used to playing in Lebron's system! What about Embiid? Will he even be healthy? Simmons? HA! He can't even shoot outside the paint and he shoots FTs like TT.

If it's about competing for more Championships Lebron is better off staying in Cleveland and recruiting guys to come here. Cavs have some assets plus a couple expirings they move around. Should be a very exciting summer! If he wants to leave that's fine but i'd expect his legacy to get hurt some if he fails to win again.

Starting over is pretty much a given at this point, as he’s going to have new teammates at any location. The only two with any familiarity are CLE and Miami.

Obviously he’s not going to “opt in” before the draft. So, the Cavs need to ensure they pick the absolute BPA and not reach (please no Young or Sexton). Bamba, Porter, Carter, JJJ...this draft has some really useful players. Don’t shy away from one of the big men because of Zizic.

Lebron doesn’t have a weight around him this time; he won his title for CLE. He’s not going to be hated here and I suspect he’ll get a standing ovation at the Q if he leaves during his first game back. He’s earned it. Because if this, minus the general consensus of landing spots (CLE, LA, Houston, Boston...) no one has any true insight yet.

I hate to say it, but I've conceded to the fact that LA are the favorites. Our only path to landing another all-star is LeBron going out and recruiting. As passive aggressive as he is I don't see him doing that for us. He's going to wait to see what moves teams make to position themselves for his services.

The only move we can make independent of LBJ is with the pick and that's not happening unless we know he's going to commit.

With that said, I do not think he goes to LA on his own. He's going to wait to see if they can land PG. Our best hope is that PG decides to stay in OKC, as has been rumored is likely to happen. If PG stays, that obviously means we're not going to get him. At that point, I believe it's a stalemate and LeBron seriously considers taking a sabbatical. He could sit out, wait to see where all the chips land, rest and recover, and then decide at the trade deadline.

There's only so much recruiting that he could do.. He can't force other teams to trade their star players to the Cavs. Even if, say, he convinced Lillard and PG13 both to want to come join him in Cleveland he can't do much beyond that.
 
is anyone else not really sold on the greatness of PG13? Don't get me wrong he's a good player but superstar? I don't feel so...what did he ever accomplish in his career so far? Indy did nothing with him nor did OKC...he's a nice part of a team but I feel everyone over values him a bit?
 
I think Lebron is going to play with Paul George. Have to think it comes down to will it be in CLE or LA. (outside chance PHI)

Exactly, if you convince PG then the next step is he goes to mgmt and uses his threat of leaving as leverage for what he wants - namely to be traded to Cleveland.

Paul George isn't gonna wake up one morning between now and July 1st and say "I think I should go to Cleveland". Not unless he knows Bron wants him in Cleveland as opposed to LA.

That series against Indy the year before last, he was spectacular. Truthfully the only guy I’ve seen go head to head against Lebron without an all-star bevy of teammates and hold his own in the playoffs. Lebron outplayed him, but he was damn good and clutch. This past season was strange. He loooked out of place, and I guess playing with Westbrook must be as difficult as rumored, given the success of guys before playing with him, and after leaving him.

He was easily the 2nd best player on the court his last year in the playoffs with Indy vs the Cavs. He arguably played just as well as LeBron that series given their teammates. He was also the sole reasoning why the Pacers always gave the Heat trouble too. As for OKC, Durant did nothing with Westbrook either besides choke a 3-1 lead away.

Well, playing with LBJ isn't always easy either, especially since PG and LBJ both prefer to play primarily the 3. If one or the other was willing to play the 4 day in/day out, that's different.

Which is what will happen in CLE or LA.

Playing the 4 isn't as big of a deal anymore, with how "position-less" the game has gotten.

4's are no longer defending the block on a consistent basis, which means the fear of "wear and tear" has dissipated a ton.

Not to mention, with how perimter oriented the game has become, having a 4 matched up on LeBron or PG is great for their offensive games of attacking the rim.

I think we're pretty much at the point in LeBron's career where he's an interchangeable 3 or 4 depending on who he starts next too....not unlike when he'd start with Jeff Green.
