LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
if we trade #8 & cedi for a one year rental we will regret it for years. There is nothing we can add that is going to put us over GS
Not even Leonard who would be a player that really wouldnt want to be here and is coming off a injury that no one knows much about
Respectfully disagree. Getting Leonard will have a domino effect. Whether it be with a guy like George or bench guys. People will want to play with Lebron and Kawhi.

where is the money to pay for someone else ? What assets will be left to acquire anyone. Leonard would not be here by choice. If it was up to him, he would be in LA this coming year. He could come here for year and he and lebron would both be in LA next year

Would you rather lose LeBron and keep Cedi/#8 or lose Cedi/8 for Kawhi and keep LeBron?

If Leonard is adamant about playing in L.A. next year, you simply can't trade for him, no matter how low the asking price gets.

Unless George forces his way here, I think we need to accept the fact that we've made our run (it was a good 'un, wish we could have gotten 1 more title out of it but oh well) and focus on the rebuild.

WHAT? Seriously? You would pass up a shot at a championship, even at a low asking price, just because it would be a one year run? Why exactly are you a basketball fan then? Clearly you're not interested in seeing your team win or win a championship so why is it exactly?

There is no benefit to "focusing on a rebuild". Once Lebron leaves the Cavs wander in the basketball wilderness for years, maybe decades. So squeeze the luscious ripe orange of the greatest player ever until there is no more juice left. And hell, Lebron and Kawhi together taking on the Warriors? That wouldn't be squeezing an orange, that would be drinking a beautiful bottle of 1982 Chateau Latour that had been perfectly stored since bottling.

Kind of irrelevant since I don't see us getting Kawhi, but it just astounds me that someone wouldn't want Lebron+Kawhi together for a run at the Warriors, even it's a one year run.

One issue with this all is it is only for one year. leonard has said he wants to go to LA.
Another issue is that I do not think it comes close to getting us over GS or maybe even Boston with Kyrie and Hayward back

Now if LBJ would commit for 2-3 years then that changes everything...but he will not

I really think Lebron is making a mistake by not saying I want to retire in cleveland and sign the max deal

More players would come here. His legacy would be that he retired at home and was not a ring chaser.

Amen. Push all the chips on the table in this scenario, this would literally be a modern day Scottie + Mike situation, two guys that dominant on the same team would be incredible to watch.

We know the risks going in, all parties would know the deal including Kawhi. We have an eternity to rebuild, let's go for the chip.

If you have the chance to trade the #8 and Cedi for Kawhi Leonard you do it immediately, anyone who doesn't do that trade should be shot.

Just to remind you, Cleveland has won one championship in any sport over the last fifty years. To trade even a small chance at adding another championship because you think the #8 pick and fricking Cedi Osman might help you win 38 games instead of 29 games next season would be a flat-out crime.

100% agree. I would guess his issue is more related to a lack of trust with the front office. Which...can't really blame him there, but it doesn't help in free agency and trades.

that is true, Gilbert hasnt not built a stable organization either. And I refuse to believe that letter still does not piss off Lebron. Compare the cavs organization to the Indians. Night and day
I do think gilbert and lbj share the blame in not having more titles.

I would want #18 back and them have to take Tristan. Once Kawhi leaves there's no chance in hell Bron is staying. If Kawhi & Bron both walk to LA next summer this franchise would have absolutely nothing to recover with.

If the Cavs actually got Leonard for Cedi and the 8th, what a turnaround that would be in regards to how the Kyrie deal turned out.:chuckle:

That couldnt be the only move though if the goal is to beat the Warriors, we'd still have to add another shot creator(Kemba), and either add another wing defender or at least give Cedi consistent minutes. Rim protection would be a plus, its why seeing Dwight get dealt again for role players and 2nds makes me wish he was a Cav, drama or not. He isnt Orlando Dwight, but hes at least a legitimate threat offensively along with solid defense.

Kawhi and LBJ would be using the cavs for a year before both going to LA. And your right we would be left with nothing
I really do not think Gilbert is going to do it. I think he has a big ass ego and is not going to be held hostage and be made to look like a fool next year.

I would use love to get hometown guy McCollum back who is under control for a few years. Team him with other hometown guy nance. Keep the #8 pick and start the rebuild

We he can either start it this year with some young talent or next year with zero.

Either way, we are not getting over GS next year, even with leonard IMO

I think McCollum is the least risky move for Gilbert to do if we can get him for #8. He is under contract for multiple years and the hometown has to be factored in. I also think the lack of a chance to be the guy has left him with untapped potential. If LeBron comes back then leaves next summer, one year of McCollum being the first option star of the team would only improve his value.

Best case scenario we are in a Harden or Oladipo situation where coming out of the shadow of another star brings Mccollum to a whole new level. I don't think you can say that with Kemba.

I’d rather trade Love for McCollum. If you want to expand the deal, we can throw in JR Smith for Evan Turner- one overpaid, underperforming player for another.

This is if you really want to go big:

To Cavs: Lillard, Aminu, #24 pick
To Blazers: Love, Clarkson, #8 pick
