LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's Woj, writing about LeBron? I bet I can probably list off the talking points before reading it and I bet he doesn't blame Blatt for anything at all. I have that about right?

It's actually pretty tame for a Woj opinion piece on Lebron. :chuckle:

If it's not a Woj Bomb I don't care what he has to say. Woj is a sensationalist. This story is par for the course from him being that it is completely one sided against LeBron.

Blatt is sealing his own fate. Has LeBron been in Blatt's corner? The answer is obvious but I don't see Blatt giving these guys any reason to trust in him.

If/when Blatt gets fired, I can almost see the Woj piece in my head. There will be nothing but praise for Blatt and his genius and nothing but condemnation for everything Cavs, but in particular LeBron James and Dan Gilbert. It will be those two that caused him to fail, and not Blatt's own shortcomings. I'm just calling my shot early.

I was banned from this site for a week for posting basically the stuff that Woj just put in that article. Basically James rather than being about winning is about the shakedown. Still not sure what to make of his summer weight loss.

Does it not seem a little odd for a journalist to basically write the same piece over and over and over again, switching a few things here and there, over the course of years?

No, because we all know that writing the shitty hit pieces is the price Woj pays to get his ridiculous insider access. It's a scummy method of journalism, but it's the reason why he's famous.

That said, I think we can all agree that LeBron hasn't exactly stepped up as a leader for this team yet.

He looked more like a leader last night. Maybe it was just that he wasn't healthy and was dealing with those issues so he was having a hard time leading by example because he knew on the court it was only so much he could do but others were still stuck in their bad habits. Lebron played with intensity and was talking on defense slapping fives and encouraging teammates as well as putting them in their place last night.

From Woj's article:

Those things didn't happen in Miami with Micky Arison and Pat Riley, but let's be honest: Almost no other franchise wouldn't have promised all that access to sign James.

Yes, let's be honest about that. Duh, the Cavs aren't doing anything any other team wouldn't have in this situation.

Interview with Mike Brown today on Sirius/XM. He called Lebron "one of the top 3 basketball IQs in basketball". This Brown interview was not all hugs and kisses to the Cavs, so I do believe he meant that.

The reality is, Lebron is going to pull a lot of weight here. Personally, I figure if you are going to have someone like that, then at least he is "one of the top 3 basketball IQs in the game".

But obviously I can see why it would bother people. I'm not one.

I saw a new Lebron last night. The reason they lost was because the Phoenix Suns were better - that night. If he continues that level of play, it will work out.

People get so angry at Woj for speaking the truth.

Too funny. People would have been loving that same article had it been written about the Heat.
I love Woj opinion pieces because he bases his vitriol off of real information from instrumental figures unlike the gossip mongers at ESPN. You can come to your own conclusions after stripping his opinion away from the facts, which are rarely found elsewhere.

By the way, in my previous post where I said that Brown's interview was not all "hugs and kisses" about Lebron. This is what I meant:

On that same interview Mike Brown was asked about Lebron going to the Ohio State game, Brown said that he did not support it. He said it sets a bad example.

After the interview, the announcer (can't remember name) and Antonio Davis discussed the Ohio State game issue. The announcer pointed out that if Love wanted to go to the UCLA game, or Kyrie to the Duke game, now Blatt/Griffin have to cave - they set the precedent.

Antonio Davis disagreed. His comment to Brown at the end of the call, and to the announcer was "each to his own lane". The announcer asked what he meant.

Davis said that if Lebron were on his team, he wouldn't have a problem. He played with superstars (he mentioned Reggie Miller).

He said, "This guy brings home the mail. At the end of games, we feed him the ball to deliver. He carries us. So if he wants to do something like that, I don't have a problem. He's the man."

Davis pointed out that people might not think it SHOULD be that way, but it is that way.

I was actually surprised to hear a player say that, figured they wouldn't like the double standard. So go figure.

So essentially, Brown threw Lebron under the bus regarding the Ohio State thing. BUT, totally supported him in saying his basketball IQ was so high.

It is a non-issue because LeBron was able to light it up in the stage. If he had a bad night scoring and was turning over the ball - Im sure this might become a bigger issue.

Lebron wasn't healthy early in the year. The people trashing him are being really unfair -- he played well given his health issues.

However, I don't think his health problems are totally gone in two weeks. This team will probably have to rest him again at some point if we expect him to be strong for the playoffs. What happens then?

The most interesting part of that article, is that Woj (rightfully, IMO) said that it was a different LeBron James out there last night. It was the LeBron we have been waiting for. And he's right, that is the LeBron we need every night.

So if LeBron has in fact decided to put his power play games on the backburner and just focus on being the best player in the world, then it's now up to Blatt to make a strong effor to push past his shortcomings and hold up his responsibilities. Because I mostly like they guy, but last night LeBron brought it and Blatt did not.

I'm sure Blatt is enjoying this experience....
I am pretty sure Blatt is on the way out....handwriting is everywhere.

Unfortunate, sad, but they need someone who's been through the wars. Larry Drew IS an actual ex-head coach and happens to be nearby?
