Strictly hypothetical.
Say he stays. Say he decides he wants to finish out his career here, and just says to the Cavs organization "Ball is in your court"
What can the Cavs do to make things better, easier on him? How do we build a team that can beat that hoosier twerp in Boston? How do we build a team to get him a 2nd ring?
I'm blanking. Help.
Truly you essentially do nothing next season. Draft your guy.
Then when Love comes off the books in '19 and JR and Hill can br cut for a small amount, you begin remaking the team in free agency. TT will be an expiring then too.
Problem we have is we are simply too old and not athletic enough. We tried to get younger, but Hood and Clarkson just suck.
Anyway, thatd what I do. Try and sell him on 2019 and 2020. We chase Kawhi with cap space in 19 and then in 20 when Clarkson and TT come off we chase AD. The gap between us and GS is too big to do it in one off-season. And we dont have 1009 picks coming to us to help us do it like Boston thanks to the Nets.
