While as a 1 to 1 comparison, you are right, Wade probably deserves to start over JR, I would not make that swap.

First of all, Wade running the bench give us a HUGE advantage over other teams--even the Warriors. Wade vs. Livingston is finally an advantage for the Cavs when we go to our bench. Also, before TT came back and ruined our bench, Wade, Korver, Green, and Frye were just crushing other team's second units.

However, you are right, that JR should not be starting any more.

I would like to give JR a temporary break from the lineup, and try starting Cedi. His defense and speed would match up great with IT, and he does what JR should be doing--catching and shooting 3s.

This should be our rotation if Lue had balls:

IT, Cedi, LBJ, Crowder, Love

Wade, Korver, Green, Frye, and any player from the starting rotation.

We need to go down to 9 guys until the front office makes a trade. It's the only way to start building consistency.

I agree with the premise of what you are saying. I challenge your rotation with one wild card....Derrick Rose.

If he's surrounded by shooters who are competent defenders he would be a God send in the 2nd unit, if the team stays as is. He, Korver, JR, Green and either Thompson or Love (with him being the 1st sub put back in) would work if you insert Wade into the starting lineup.

The biggest problem of that isn't Roses health...its JR reverting to a whiney bitch because he got benched.

Otherwise fantastic points made. We cant bench JR without worrying about the impact on our strong 2nd unit.

If we do nothing, we have NO chance. As long as JR and TT are rotation players, and Lue is determining the rotations, we are COOKED, with a capital C.

If we replace our coach and find a way to get a rim-protector and a shooting guard, we have a SMALL chance. Get to The Finals, and you have LeBron James.

I don't think either Korver, JR, Green, or Thompson (?!?) qualifies as a "shooter who is competent defender." Korver is the only one of the four who is a good shooter at ths point. JR can barely shoot, and can't defend. If he did, we wouldn't need to move him to the bench.

Green isn't a shooter either, and TT...can't shoot at all.

If Rose only works if surrounded by shooters who are competent defenders, then that's exactly why he doesn't fit on this team.

The thing of it is, we weren't *that* far away until we screwed up our second straight off season. Take last year's team with Kyrie, add Green and Wade to beef up our bench, then say the front office is smart enough (for once!) to get Tyreke Evans instead of Derrick Rose in the off season. That team has a puncher's chance against GS I think...remember last year's team almost took them to six.

Last summer was just that last set of front office fuckups that put us over the edge. Now it does feel like we're kind of fucked.
 
Where can I get decent NBA news? I’m so tired of ESPN and their talking heads. Stephen A. does not count as news. Where can I go to actually be informed?
 
There is no way to properly evaluate this team.

I just witnessed LeBron purposefully try to lose the game the entire 2nd half.

Not exaggerating, not being dramatic...

dude was actively sabotaging his own team, knowingly.

Not sure why, or what that means...but it happened.

I would seriously suspend him. I'm not even kidding. I would suspend LeBron for what he just did.
 
Lebron aside, it still feels as if this squad needs a colonic irrigation. It is cluttered, too many offensive options all waiting for their turn. Needs to be built in a more focused way, guys who leave their ego at the door and are willing to concentrate on the small things.

I was curious if that was the case looking at the box score.

For those who didn’t watch, what was he doing? The old “I’m gonna jog around and just pass the ball to people as soon as I get it” schtick?

He came back in and we were up by like 5 or something so he just kept letting Orlando score and then kept either taking contested jumpers or purposely diverting the ball from a good spot to a bad spot.....IT found him inside for a couple easy buckets and he zipped passes from under the rim uncontested to the perimeter instead of finishing. He was throwing knuckleballs at IT's feet to make him bobble the pass. He saw Jeff Green under the basket for a wide open dunk and looked him off and fired a bullet turnover right into a passing lane two Magic guys were already jumping...
