"maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" - MJ

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

Dick you actually watch the game?

please. Hop off his d. If you watched the game you could have easily saw his lack of effort in the 3rd Q and the lack of hustle throughout the game. He has the ability to single handedly win games like this for us when he puts up the effort, he has that much talent. He just didn't give us that effort tonight and a couple other nights already in these first 12 games. I think I'm not the only one who has noticed this. If your a Cavs fan and not a just a LeBron guy than this should make you angry with him. He's not flawless

^ I'm more angry with how shitty the other guys played (especially Mo). LBJ stilled kept us in the game.....no one else did anything.

Definitely a case of tired legs for us......they shot 2x more FT's than us.

Mo was crap. But I'm still upset with LeCoast. It was such a non-chalant performance from him tonight. Once D-Suck came into the game he started to chuck up off balance J's and go into Le-Iso 1-on-5 ball. Completely took the offense out of rhythm.

Doesn't matter when NO ONE ELSE WAS DOING ANYTHING. He trusts his teammates but when they are sucking.....I'd rather have him shoot 25 ft shots.

But why take 25ft off balance j's when he has the ability to get to the rim AT WILL. It pisses me off so much when I see him do some sick dunk in traffic (ex. The dunk on Miller tn) when the game is already over. Why couldn't he do that early on instead of being Le-Ego and making the offense be about him. Weve been playing good up to this game by moving the ball and getting easy looks.

I'm not sure. Tired legs? I do agree he does it a little too often....usually when the game is starting to get out of hand.

Not having AV and Shaq definitely hurt, too.

He scored 15 points in the 3rd quarter - the rest of the team combined for 6

I am the first one to criticize Lebron. He often has shitty shot selection (as we saw many times in tonight's game), and there is certainly much he can improve. But rarely can you question his resolve to try and win. And if you actually watched the game, you wouldn't keep putting your foot in your mouth with your flame posts.

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

That's a really good point. If he was changing teams, then their would be no reason to change the number because there would be tons of new jerseys being purchased for 23 on whatever team. But since he's staying in Cleveland, changing numbers would give a lot of people an excuse to go out and purchase more LBJ apparel.

Although, the only problem is that is signature logo is based on the number 23 as well...of course it'd just give him the opportunity to reinvent his marketing altogether (read as: make lots of new stuff to sell).

Dick you actually watch the game?

I posed that same question to Windy on Twitter and he said Bron has until a certain date this year to change his number.

So he could change his number this year, get all of us to buy his jersey, then switch teams and get that boost in jersey sales as well.

Which almost makes the timing seem worse. If he does it this year does it prelude a move?

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

In my honest opinion, i think lebron is switching jersey numbers to increase merch sales to offset what he would potentially sell if he moves to a different city. In other words, i see this as a positive sign for Lebron staying in Cle.

This thread is dumb.

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

Can we put a moratorium on calling things "LeSomething" "LeWhatever"?

It's getting so annoying.

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

I dont like what MJ said........

MJ knows that the KING have a chance to surpass him.........

“LeBron has the potential to be the best ever. As incredible as he already is, he is still learning the game. LeBron is going to be unbelievable.”
-Legend Michael Jordan on LeBron James

LeBron will surpass him and i believe this! But i am not the only!

“He has a chance to be arguably the greatest player ever to play the game.”
-Legend Jerry West on LeBron James

"I'd rather have Lebron James"
-Legend Scottie Pippen saying Lebron is better than Jordan at the age of 22

"He was as good as that other No. 23 I played against. He was exceptional. He wasn't going to let his team lose.''
-Legend Isiah Thomas on Lebron James

"I think, before he's done, he has a chance to be the greatest player of all time."
- Former NBA player Danny Ainge on Lebron James

"The best physical tools in the history of the game. He has the smarts of Magic Johnson, the brute strength and athleticism of George McGinnis and the speed of Ricky Green rolled into one massive body. I have said this since he has been in the league… If he continues to improve his jump shot, he will become the best ever."
-Former NBA player Eddie Johnson on Lebron James

"I see a little bit of Michael in him, and I see a little bit of me in him. Now he needs to win championships like Michael and I did, and I'm sure one day that will happen."
-Legend Magic Johnson on Lebron James

Also the first player he wore #23 and succeed was the G.O.A.T of NCAA basketball Pistol Pete Maravich......

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

Wow. Did most of you even watch the video? That's as humble as Jordan gets. He's says like 10 times that he appreciates the gesture and that it's nice of LeBron. For about 3 seconds Jordan speculates that it might also be about extra jersey sales, a concept Jordan is also familiar with. He's not calling LeBron out, all he does is argue that Bird, Magic and Russell should also have their numbers retired. I think Jordan is an ass, but he's not an ass here.

Re: "maybe he's trying to sell some other jerseys now but thanks for the thought" -

Jordan has always been a bitch. thats all you had to say. his hall of fame speech he choose to single out anyone that ever doubted him. it had nothing to do with giving thanks it was all about trying to continue to put people down.

honestly I think in 20 years people are going to look back consider MJ a top 3 talent and first rate asshole, and the top 3 isnt going to come from any current players (well maybe lebron). Instead its going to be look back and seeing the whole picture, not just the last 20 years.

Right. Because no one good will come out in next 20 years... With time passing by players will just get more mythical proportions and nothing else. I'm sure no one envisioned players like Kobe or LeBron to be so good after MJ retired. "Once in a lifetime player" is bull... People will say Russell was the best, or Wilt, or Bird or Magic or Jordan or.... Now who is it really? It comes down to people's preferences. No such thing as best ever.
