Right. Because no one good will come out in next 20 years... With time passing by players will just get more mythical proportions and nothing else. I'm sure no one envisioned players like Kobe or LeBron to be so good after MJ retired. "Once in a lifetime player" is bull... People will say Russell was the best, or Wilt, or Bird or Magic or Jordan or.... Now who is it really? It comes down to people's preferences. No such thing as best ever.

no one has come close to jordan, magic, wilt, russell or bird.... period. name 3. especially bird, white people sort gave up on basketball after jordan took off... it was a movement. there hasnt been a pg to enter the league as good as magic or even as physically gifted as magic. lebron is the only player that can even be mentioned in the same sentence as any of those players.

wilt and russell are obvious... there wont be a center as good as either one any time soon. dwight isnt that player, neither is oden...

You're taking it the wrong way, your own list proves the point that there are always other great players.
LeBron, Duncan, Shaq, Wade, Kobe, Nash, Dirk, Paul, KG - the league is loaded with historically great players. A few in the prime of their career, a few who's career's are winding down, a few who are just getting going. There's always another cycle coming along.

Sure, there'll never be another Michael Jordan. There will be players who can be equally great. Typically one or two per generation.

Russell Had Wilt
Wilt Had Russell and Kareem
Kareem had Wilt, Moses, Dr. J
Magic had Bird
Jordan had Magic and Bird early, then a bit of a void left by Magic's HIV, Len Bias's death, Sampson's knees and missing Hakeem's peak
