Michael Reghi: Cavaliers still covet Gerald Wallace

Not sure which thread to put this in... Since it's a statement from Reghi, I thought I would try here first. Reghi just stated on his radio show that Anthony Parker, Bargnani and Kapono are all available out of Toronto. Apparently they're looking to blow it up. Any thoughts on these guys? I don't know much about them.

It looks like Sasha straight up for either Bargnani or Parker works salary-wise. For Bargnani it would work out to be a salary dump for Toronto. For Parker, I'm not seeing why Toronto would do it. You see any other trade combinations that make sense? Would there even be a point?

I would welcome back Kapono. Does anyone else realize how deadly Kapono would be with Lebron?

No way why would they do that seeing they need to keep bosh... crazy but if they are looking to do that I'd love to get Bargnani he is a good big that could be nice to pick up for just pavs that would be a steal...

but if they are reallly looking to blow things up I'd do a Bosh, Bargnani, Kapono for Wally, Pav, Picks Hell I'd giv them 4 first for that lmao

Just because there are rumors of Toronto making players available, that doesn't mean they're "blowing it up". Toronto is trying to convince Bosh to resign, so I highly doubt they're going to start rebuilding. If they do trade some of their pieces, they'll be looking for talent back, not cap space.

The Raptors are not going to get equal talent back for a guy who will be a free agent in 2 years.

Alright, forget how perfectly suited Wallace is for our bench, is he still seriously available?

The guy has been amazing for his team the past couple weeks. He's still my first choice but is it possible now hes playing so well so close to he deadline.

I think it's possible only because the 'Cats care more about saving money than winning lol. But man that J-Rich trade is helping them out. They're better defensively and Diaw is playing very well. They'd be dumb to trade G-Wall, even though I want him. I still have a feeling we might end up with Brad Miller and someone else if we don't get a good deal. 26 days...

I wouldn't say they are better defensively.

89 PPG given up before the trade.

93 PPG given up after the trade.

They are scoring about 10 more points per game since the trade, however.

I guess I like Gerald Wallace the player...no doubt he would help. still I think his contract is horrible and will hurt the Cavs long term. I guess if they win it all with him this season the long term could be over looked a bit.

His contract isn't that good, but he could be a core piece. He's only 26 years old I believe, and a core of Mo/LBJ/Hickson/Gibson/Wallace would be pretty enticing for LBJ to resign.

VERY RIGHT and how it looks we will be resigning andy killing the 2010 siging a star anyways. BUT THERE IS STIll a way to get bosh/amare. Trade ben and picks maybe gisbon at the deadline if tor or phx is still losing

Best option for now and the future. Gerald Wallace is one of tthe most underrated players in the league, I guarantee hed suprise some people.

But the problem is Im not sure if he'll still be available with the way hes playing right now.

I just don't see Wallace as anything special...and I really don't see him having an impact on LeBron's decision to resign or go elsewhere.

Lebron's decision on whether to resign or go elsewhere will depend largely (not exclusively) on winning. To the extent that G-Force can help bring multiple championships to Cleveland then that is a good thing. I just don't know if he is the best guy (among those that are available) or more correctly, the best value. I assume he won't cost more than Wally and a 1st?
