Reghi is filling in for Mark Bishop on WKNR 850AM and he has repeatedly mentioned that the Cavaliers remain very high on Wallace and if they were to make a move later in the season he would be a guy they would go after.

interesting...

I would love to have the guy coming off the bench for us... maybe starting in some situations depending on how he fits in our offense but I think Delonte is shooting the ball too well in general to put another non shooter in the starting lineup

regardless of when he plays he would be a great addition IMO...hopefully he came cheap but I unfortunatly see a Wally for Gerlad and Nazr deal being what may happen

I'd love to see how Gerald Wallace would fit in with the Cavs. He's a good defender that has great athleticism to fall back on when getting steals/blocking shots.

Also, while he's not a great shooter, I think he's just what this team needs, whether he starts or comes off of the bench. Mo, Delonte, and Boobie have all made great strides to attack the hoop and diversify their games (Mo was probably the one who least needed to work on this before this season), yet all rely on the 3 point shooting heavily towards the end of games. And there's absolutely no problem with this, especially not when they're hitting. However, if LeBron isn't getting the penetration needed to find these three point shooters, we might as well have DJ and Hot Buttered sitting out there. Once again, this is not to imply Mo, Delonte, and Boobie can't put the ball on the deck, we've seen they can and that's why this year has been so much better and LeBron's had so much more help. But, I'd like to see another player in the mix that doesn't rely as much on jumpshots and looks to attack more often.

Gerald Wallace would really make things interesting in this regard. 65% of his shot attempts are from the inside, whether it be close shots, tip ins, or dunks. By contrast, John Salmons, Vince Carter, and Mike Miller attempt less than 35% of their shots from the inside. Also, Wallace could stretch the floor even more for our three point shooters, as the paint would undoubtedly collapse if he and LeBron were attacking. I just think that his defense and nose for getting to the rim would be very important to this team, especially in critical stretches of the game.

I've been saying ever since the draft, there's a good chance he'll be a Cav.

I'd rather have Deng than Wallace if both are available. Deng seems more polished offensively, though Wallace is probably a better defender. Neither player has a short contract, so I don't like getting either of them in that respect.

Neither can defend Kevin Garnett or Pau Gasol, but I think both could defend someone like Powe or Odom, which would be fine if they come of the bench as the 6th man/PF when we go small.

Perhaps these two are what we need to go all the way. Both can create their own shot, defend multiple positions, and both may be available. With Ben, Z, and AV as true big men, I'm not sure we really need a true 4th big... and Delonte is great offensively most of the time, so perhaps what we really need is a sort of hybrid player who can play 2 through 4 and come off the bench.

Ginobilli is the Spurs' 3rd best player and he at least used to always come off the bench.

i too think his knack for getting to the rim would be an added plus for this team...we still have deadeyes like Gibson and Williams and Delonte to play with him that could help spread things out

Not to mention he is a guy who can play some good defense and someone I wouldnt mind throwing at a Kobe Bryant or Paul Pierce to give LeBron a breather

all in all while im not sure where he gets his mins, starting or off the bench I think his skill set would be a welcome addition to the team

.

That's what I like the most. Wallace is the kind of addition that makes the Cavs a skilled team with players that can both play several offensive positions as well as defend multiple players. Having Wallace and James at the 3-4 would be so much better defensively than the Wally-James experiment. Plus I think I'd see my new favorite line-up of Mo-Delonte-Wallace-James-AV. Talk about speed, scoring, athleticism, and defense!

I think both Deng and Wallace would come of the bench and take all of Wally's minutes (20mpg) when we go small, probably 10 minutes where Sasha would normally play (13mpg) and then a few of Delonte's minutes as well. That's 30-35 minutes per game. In games against teams such as the Hawks I could see them play extra minutes against players such as Joe Johnson, as Delonte lacks the size to play those players one on one for a whole game.

Deng averages 33 mpg and Wallace 37 mpg this year, so I think both could be happy with the minutes that would be available. Even if they don't take any of Delonte's minutes and just take Wally's and most of Sasha's they'd be around 30 mpg.

Everything except his injury history would be good for this team.

Don't see Wallace coming off the bench. The guy has been averaging about 36-37mpg for the Cats over the last 4 years. I feel like Delonte would have to be demoted if we brought Gerald in. But hell, if the guy is willing to play 25 or so off the bench he could certainly be used.

I'd give this a very strong chance of happening. Gerald Wallace is exactly the type of player the Cavs like.

If we get him HE WONT start that would mean Ben, LBJ, and him would be on the floor at the same time NOT GOOD both would clog the lane and a man on man on MO so our O would be pretty much nothing West is going GREAT No need to bench him

Wish we could get a andy and wally for g-force and Their star Center/PF deal THAT would be AWESOME!!!!

PG MO, GIbson
SG West, G-wal
SF James, G-wal
PF Okf, Ben
C Z, Okf, Ben

That was discussed a while back, but I think the Cats have Okafor in their longterm plans.

I'd take Wallace is Ferry thought it was the best deal available. I'm not losing Andy though, unless we get a GREAT big in return.

I wouldn't even want Okafor, I really don't get why everyone is so high on him.

His around the basket game is a bit rough. It's very average, he can score some. He's hardily a big threat. Anyone physical on him, exposes his offensive game, which is very limited. He's hurt a lot of the time and has a ridiculous contract.

If the Bobcats decide to trade him, the same year they give him a ridiculous contract. I doubt it's for expiring contracts. It would only make them look completely dumb, for signing him to that huge contract to just dump him off that quick.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he stinks. He's solid, but I sure as hell wouldn't want him for that contract. If he was cheaper, a different story. As Akronite said, they are building around him. There's no indication they've given up on him yet.
