I'd love to see how Gerald Wallace would fit in with the Cavs. He's a good defender that has great athleticism to fall back on when getting steals/blocking shots.
Also, while he's not a great shooter, I think he's just what this team needs, whether he starts or comes off of the bench. Mo, Delonte, and Boobie have all made great strides to attack the hoop and diversify their games (Mo was probably the one who least needed to work on this before this season), yet all rely on the 3 point shooting heavily towards the end of games. And there's absolutely no problem with this, especially not when they're hitting. However, if LeBron isn't getting the penetration needed to find these three point shooters, we might as well have DJ and Hot Buttered sitting out there. Once again, this is not to imply Mo, Delonte, and Boobie can't put the ball on the deck, we've seen they can and that's why this year has been so much better and LeBron's had so much more help. But, I'd like to see another player in the mix that doesn't rely as much on jumpshots and looks to attack more often.
Gerald Wallace would really make things interesting in this regard. 65% of his shot attempts are from the inside, whether it be close shots, tip ins, or dunks. By contrast, John Salmons, Vince Carter, and Mike Miller attempt less than 35% of their shots from the inside. Also, Wallace could stretch the floor even more for our three point shooters, as the paint would undoubtedly collapse if he and LeBron were attacking. I just think that his defense and nose for getting to the rim would be very important to this team, especially in critical stretches of the game.
