New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
its not that, I like to binge watch so holding off is more for me to have more to watch at once than anything story related

Is Stranger Things going to have the same cast in season two? I thought it was going for an anthology vibe like Fargo.

Westworld is awesome. It is really well done. Interesting plot, great acting, and fabulous cinematography. I can't say enough about it. It makes the original movies, which I recently re-watched, look like made for TV films.

The only odd thing about Westworld at the moment is it hasn't been renewed for a 2nd season yet. I have no idea what HBO is waiting for? It's hard to imagine they can wrap this all up in one 10 episode season, it's so layered with so many questions.

Are the ratings bad or something? I haven't really been following how the show is doing. I just know it's enjoyable.

The following link talks about what to expect for season 2. I wouldn't go there if you haven't watched season 1 yet.

“Season One actually takes place over the course of six or seven days – it’s a really short period of time,” he explained. “So part of what we want to do with hypothetical Season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened.”

Okay, so a bit of research has told me that Stranger Things will indeed have the same cast in season two. I guess it's a true series rather than an anthology series.

i think it might move towards anthology but the writers had more stories they wanted to tell with the young kids so they started to shoot almost instantly

I assumed the ratings were good but haven't checked either. Just seems the word of mouth and acclaim are mostly strong. Last year, they did renewal Vinyl after the first episode but then changed their minds as the interest in that show bombed. Perhaps they might be more cautious now, I'm not sure.

For those just getting into Black Mirror, I hope you get to check out some of the previous episodes. White Christmas, The Entire History of You and Be Right Back are probably my favorites. Haven't made it through all of this new season yet but they've all been great so far.
History of You is exactly why I never want to have that capability. My mind races enough already. I don't need to go back and revisit previous encounters.

FYI, Dave Chappelle is hosting SNL on Saturday. First appearance on a sketch comedy show since Chappelle show ended.

Is it just me or are TV shows getting more in your face with narratives? I was watching the Mindy project last night and they flat out said something to the effect of "so glad to contribute to the rapid descent of the white male". Watched an episode of the blacklist and spader's character gave some sort of speech on gay rights (which I'm for). Maybe it's just recency bias but I feel the subtlety is gone in pushing agendas. Thoughts?
