New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Finished black mirror. I'm sad.

I just finished “Be Right Back,” the season 2 premiere about the woman who loses her partner and then resurrects him artificially through email/phone/AI technology. Legit felt more emotions and heart tugs than I’ve felt in some whole seasons of TV. The link between putting photos of deceased family members in the attic and the ending was freaking beautiful and the reverse-engineering of her pregnancy and how it relates to the AI robot was just breathtakingly clever.

Will Ferrell hosted a great snl.

This Altered Carbon show looks interesting. Just watched the trailer on Netflix.

I just read the first book in that series (which presumably the first season will cover) and it was really good. Nice cyberpunk story.
Yeah, the book is really really good, and I hope the show lives up to it. Fwiw, it seems like the show has gotten some great reviews so far.

Just watched the first two episodes of Dirty Money on Netflix. Pretty entertaining.

Each episode is a one hourish documentary on a paticular scandal.

Ep. 1 was on the VW emissions cheating
Ep. 2 was on the payday loan scandal

Both were pretty good.

Anyone give this a watch over the weekend? Looking for a new show to binge and I was intrigued by the trailer as well.

I've watched 7 episodes. It's pretty good. The setting and the plot is very interesting, but i'm not a fan of some of the cast. Specifically most of the leads (like robocop reboot guy). Some of the supporting actors are really good like the AI of the hotel.

If I wasn't a big fan of bladerunner i'm not sure how much I would like this. My girlfriend seems to like it though.

So much for a reboot :(

I'm a little over midway through. They dumbed down a lot of the book content. Merged the Quellists and the Envoys into one entity, which whatever. Made Reileen into Kovacs' sister for some reason that ultimately doesn't make a lot of sense considering what that character does in the story (unless they've changed that too, but it's not looking like it). Turned Bancroft into a cartoonishly evil version of his book character who was kind of a scumbag, but ultimately not a terrible person despite his immortality.

Overall, it's entertaining but more than a little clunky. A lot of moments that they play off as incredibly deep end up feeling cheesy, and there are plenty of instances where the dialogue feels stilted and unnatural. The performers aren't really strong enough to overcome it in most instances. Purefoy's about the only one on the roster who can take just about any shit they give him and make it work, and they kind of butchered his character. It's fun for the most part, though, and visually it's spectacular.

Chick they cast for Ortega is a smokeshow.

Fuck Netflix.

Just finished the first season of Black Mirror(Love. It.) and autoplay took me all the way to ep 1 of season 4. Wtf

Not that it really matters for this type of show but that's pretty stupid. Star Fleet episode was fucking awesome though.

Almost like a new age twilight zone this show.

Yeah, I feel very similar about this show. I don't think i'd really like it if I wasn't into blade runner or sci fy. Joel Kinnerman is kind of Jae Courtneyish to me. He has about -25 charisma. There is some serious cheese throughout that makes you roll your eyes a bit.
