Not Ashamed to Admit We Were Wrong on...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I actually thought hue would be a good Hc and Haley would be a great OC. What an idiot.
I was beyond excited for Hue, my buddy was trying to bring me down to earth at the time, I should have listened.

I think a lot of us were. But that's what snake oil salesmen do...they sell you shit.

Tim tebow as a person.

actually seems like a genuine human being. In college i thought he was a stuck up frat boy. Thought he was a holier than thou asshole.

But in hindsight i think he is actaully a really awesome person

I was wrong about my first wife, looking back I probably should have held on to her. I was REALLY wrong about my second wife, way too much to go into there. So far so good with the 3rd wife... <knocking on wood>

Lol, this is about football Buzz.

As long as No.3 doesn't pull a Mrs. Bill Walton on this thread, that wood-knocking should be enough.

She'd probably be pleased plenty well enough with the "so far, so good" comment, considering she knows what I went through with #2 and I've been pretty good to her. I don't think she'd blame me for hedging a little. And she knows I'm too worn out to even think about rocking the boat, let alone capsize it. :chuckle:

Regarding the current team, Mayfield for sure.

I was pretty high on the Cam Erving/Danny Shelton duo of picks.

Like everyone, I was excited about Hue. I was extremely excited about Haley as well.

Wasn't a believer in Dorsey.

To date, I am very wrong about all of those things.

Going back to Danny Shelton...

Does anyone remember the poster who came in here around the time of that draft and said Shelton would be JAG because of his inability to get sideline to sideline?

Guess that person gets the last laugh, although I've always said that predicting a guy to fail on the Browns and being correct isn't exactly a feather in one's evaluator cap.

Baker Mayfield was definitely my biggest "miss" for something Browns related. I did not think he would be this good, especially this soon. I am so glad to have been so wrong.

Other misses:

Hue Jackson - like most, I was thrilled with the hire

Mike Holmgren - oh man, was I excited for Holmgren. I was fully convinced he'd be the guy to turn it around. Yikes...

Carson Wentz - I wasn't super against him or anything, but definitely leaned on the "pass" side of the fence

Those are the ones that immediately come to mind where I could definitely say I was wrong.

Lmfao in college I told my friends Matt Barkley would be better than luck. I’d never even let myself live it down.

Don’t even think anything else needs mentioned. I chuckled as I typed it out, but fuck moderation.

I was also a big fan of the Bue/Kizer pairing — at least the potential behind it.

It’s early but I literally said Saquon Barkley would be outproduced by a running back taken in the third round or later.

I don’t remember that, but I do remember I was very anti-Shelton and racked up the disagrees for it

I’m not a big fan of drafting a guy who will play 55% of snaps in the first round anyway, but I also thought Shelton played with very poor leverage way too often in college. He stood straight up way too much and in the nfl most lineman are going to drive you back if that happens

I’m really anti 0 or 1 technique in the top dozen picks though unless the guy is a freak athlete that can play a high % of snaps as well
