Official NBA Draft Lottery Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If NOH gets the second pick IMHO I think Cousins would be their selection. First off if they are bent on keeping CP3 and Collison then they will have to play one of them at the 2 for some minutes, and not to mention that Thorton has to get his minutes as well.

Anyone but New Jersey please.

Part of me really believes if they get John Wall, then LeBron is going there. And I really couldn't blame him either.

Wall
Williams/CDR/Lee
LeBron
Yi
Lopez

Trade Devin Harris for another nice piece. They still also have more cap space even if LeBron signs there.

I think basketball wise, NJ makes the most sense for LBJ if they land Wall.

NJN can trade Harris, Yi, Humphries (excersice team option in order to use him in S&T), and that should be enough for them to get Bosh.

That would make the Nets line up

Wall
Williams
LeBron
Bosh
Lopez

and that is scary good imo.

That would be a nice lineup but no way do the raptors do that trade.

I dont think it's smart for LeBron to go there because that lineup is not a championship lineup with a rookie pg. It would take them a couple years to get some more pieces so they can contend. And LeBron wants to win right now.

If LeBron leaves, none of the teams he might go to are ready to win "right now".

I actually see an Amare trade as being more likely than a Bosh one.

The Suns and Nets were already deep in conversations at the deadline for a deal centered around Yi, T-Will, and the Dallas pick. If Phoenix won't pay STAT the max, which they won't unless they beat LA IMO, that could easily be the best offer they get for him. Might not even include the Dallas pick, actually.

So I'd swap Amare into that starting lineup for Bosh, and remove Williams for Lee. Then Harris can be traded for a decent (teens?) 1st rounder and solid role players to fill out the bench.

That's why NJ getting the #1 would be bad for us. It would be the perfect storm...Wall, Cal (who obv coached Wall and loves LBJ), LeBron...and then they still have the pieces to get Amare (or maybe Bosh, still going with Amare tho) and solidify their bench.

While I agree that the top 2 picks should be Wall and Turner, why is everyone leaving out Gordon Hayward? The guy lead his team to the finals and played pretty damn well.

Bill Simmons tweet:

sportsguy33 Funniest lottery winner tonight: TWolves. 2nd-funniest: Jazz. Most-potent: Kings. Most-needs-it: Sixers. Goofiest: G-State. Riggiest: Nets.

Random fact: The team with the worst record has not gotten the #1 pick since Orlando got it in '04.

Also: Since 1993 (I believe that's when the current system was placed in), the team with the worst record has picked:

#1: 2 times
#2: 6 times
#3: 5 times
#4: 6 times

(Note, the extra 2 times listed in there are due to teams tying for the worst record)

Also since 1993, the team that has gotten the #1 pick had the _ worst record in the league:

1st: 2 times
2nd: 2 times
3rd: 5 times
5th: 3 times
6th: 1 time
7th: 2 times
9th: 1 time
12th: 1 time

I'll post my best guess to the outcome, based soley on previous lottery history here soon.

Would Wall and Evans work out in the backcourt?

I honestly didn't watch much of Wall at UK. Isn't he kind of like Tyreke (a score first type guy), or is he a true PG? Also, can he shoot?

I only watched one game, but I guess he's supposed to be like a Derrick Rose or Russell Westbrook type of PG.

That is what I thought as well. I am just curious because Tyreke is basically a bigger version of Derrick Rose. I am not so sure they would compliment each other well.

He has the court vision and passing ability of a true point guard. We'll see how he responds to a system and running an NBA team.

His jumper is shaky, his speed/quickness/agility is other-worldly.

A good comparison at this point? Russel Westbrook with point guard DNA(Westbrook has shooting guard DNA)...which is basically Deron Williams minus a reliable jump-shot(and maybe a little less strong/physical).

Wall can be very special. Turner will win rookie of the year, but Wall will be a special player in this league.
