Official NBA Draft Lottery Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Wolves will likely Trade Kevin Love Or Al Jeferson and the #4 to Philly for the #2 to get Evan Turner, or Take Either DeMarcus Cousins (Somebody Shoot Me), Derrick Favors, or Cole Aldrich @ #4

you know something is wrong with the Lottery when the team with the 2nd worst record only has a 19 Percent Chance of winning the #1, 18% chance of winning the #2, 17% chance of winning the #3, Yet a 31% chance of winning the #4..

Um, are you confusing chance with they've gotten that pick _% of the time?

I disagree, Tony. I think of it as a necessary evil due to what franchises have done in the past.

I'm sick of teams with less than 1% of a shot at the first pick overall get the prize jewel of the draft class. San Antonio stealing Tim Duncan during the only season Robinson was hurt changed the NBA for the next 15 years. If Penny Hardaway stayed healthy and Shaq stayed in Orlando, they threatened to do the same. I just hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon.

I'm sick of teams losing on purpose at the end of the season to get a better draft position. I can tolerate a team rebuilding by trading away veterans... but to bench perfectly healthy players is an injustice toward the fans. Luckily, it has been happening less and less the past three years.

Exactly.

The MLB/NFL system just wouldn't work in the NBA, due to 1 player being the differece between having the worst record & making the playoffs, especially if you already have a star that was out for the season.

Hamilton and Billups were touted as offensive-minded players when they came to Detroit, but learned to defend their positions as they got acclimatized to Piston culture.

Piston culture left Detroit together with John Hammond. Now it's Buck culture. Only blind man can't see that

The Wizards have the same bunch of knuckleheads they've always had.

They're without Jamison, Butler, Haywood, and Stevenson. They're going to get a new coach. They've got lots of money to play with. They've got the number one pick. That team will look drastically different next year. Significantly younger and more athletic.

You're giving Hammond too much credit for his role in Detroit and rushing to judge a team in transition.

Dumars built the team up by degrees from 2000 to 2004 rather than remade the team overnight. He's doing that again with a new generation.

This makes them better?
