Official NBA Draft Lottery Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll I'm saying is that the lottery is a flawed system. Could you imagine the Cavs slipping to third of fourth in the draft the year they drafted Lebron just because the ball didn't go their way? That would have been total bullshit.

Isn't this how the Bulls got Rose?

But then, who's really going to intentionally tank it, The NFL has it's worst team get the #1 pick, so does the NFL and NHL, Why not the NBA?

See my above post.

ONE GUY can change the course of your franchise in the NBA much more so than the NFL. We landed LeBron James...what if we tanked a year and got John Wall or fuckin... Dwight Howard...to pair with him.

lol yea, gg.

Teams like Minnesota and the Clippers have tanked for years and they're nowhere close to being a contender. How many number one picks have panned out or lived up to the hype? Most of the great players are taken further down and some picks have even been really late (Parker, Ginobili) and have ended up being fantastic players. Scouting is far more important than drafting position, but the lottery is a joke.

....lol? Arent you just supporting MoFlo's point?

Are you kidding me? Have you viewed the percentages of all that stuff?

But you guys have Charlie V. What's wrong with him?

When you get past the injuries he suffered, he played decently.

Kuester and Dumars expect he'll rebound next season and improve. He's in the Metro Detroit area going through a strengthening regimen and in the gym working on both his offense and defense.

The Pistons need more big men, though. Like with starting pitchers in baseball, you can't get too many bigs.

Cleveland wanted Charlie V pretty bad last summer before he chose Detroit.

The Draft Lottery's flaws is the exact reason to blame for alot of NBA teams not drawing and being in financial trouble, The Timberwolves for example, have never had higher than the #3 pick in the draft in Franchise History, How does the NBA expect for these teams to draw fans when they never get the chance to pick the super stars in the draft???

Cool story, bro.

We have the draft lottery so they could take a 5 minute process and drag it across an 1hr 30 minute time slot.

Jeez they really stretched the process out with it, they should show the actual ping pong ball process live instead of the stupid cards being revealed.

I don't think they rig it every year, but I think in certain scenarios they might, like the Ewing draft I think was totally rigged. So that's why they allow the card process to happen. I think it'd be way cooler to watch it like the actual Lottery on TV.

The T-Wolves have finished with the _ worst record in the NBA since their inception:

5th; 7th; 1st; 2nd; T2nd; T2nd; T5th; Made Playoffs; Playoffs; Playoffs; Playoffs; Playoffs; Playoffs; Playoffs; Playoffs; Best Non-Playoff team; T6th; 5th; T3rd; 6th; and 2nd

Seems like you should be supporting the lottery process with that last sentence.

My favorite quote from that interview...

"We definitely need a star this year, not like in 03' when we had no use for a guy like Carmleo Anthony, Chris Bosh, or Dwyane Wade, definitely need someone to take the attention off paying two non all-stars bench players 100+ million dollars."

That's quite a bit of editorializing.

Going into the 2003 draft, Milicic was high on every GM's board. He was called a "young Wilt Chamberlain" by one top scout. Kiki Vandeweighe in Denver tried to swap picks.

At the time, did you know that Milicic would be a bust or that Carmelo, Bosh, Wade, etc. would be stars? Milicic has talent, but a rotten attitude and a sense of entitlement. Minnesota deserves what they get if they sign him to a new contract.

I wouldn't have given Hamilton an extension myself.

Gordon and Villanueva were among the top free agents of the 2009 summer. Their injuries made them play like shells of their normal selves.

i agree with waht you said about darko thats spot on, if you combine it with lrry browns and dumars wish to turn him from a tall wing player into a pivot player.

i disagree with the CV and gordon signings, they got desperate and overpaid for two players who have not panned out even when they were healthy.
