I always liked Joe Smith on the Cavs. He didn't prove to be any less useful than Jamison.

There's no need to act like a bunch of jackasses just because New Jersey got fucked. The lottery is a shitty system that should be abolished, but you won't see teams like Washington complaining. New Jersey deserved that pick and needed that pick more than anyone.

Then go root for them.

That is absolutely outrageous.

So now, because we didn't win the 'ship, you're saying Joe Smith is more useful to us than Antawn Jamison?

You don't gloat when a franchise gets fucked over. If Lebron leaves for another team and people start posting a bunch of emoticons and mocking the Cavs franchise then I don't want to hear any bitching whatsoever.

Um, there's a difference.

It's not like I'm going on Nets' forums & gloating that they didn't get the #1 pick.

And they're getting fucked over? How? Because they have to "settle" for getting the 3rd overall pick in the draft?!

The only reason anyone is happy is because adding Wall or Turner just improves NJ's chances at getting LeBron. They have a soon to be Top 5 Center in Lopez, a young former all-star in Harris. Role players like CDR, Boone, and Courtney Lee.

Adding a stud like Wall to run point or Turner to do a number of things would have been huge in their pitch to LeBron. It's not like we randomly selected Jersey and hoped for them to lose out for the hell of it.

Stop getting your panties in a bunch.

I'll I'm saying is that the lottery is a flawed system. Could you imagine the Cavs slipping to third of fourth in the draft the year they drafted Lebron just because the ball didn't go their way? That would have been total bullshit.

The NBA Draft Lottery is such a fucking joke it's ridiculous, only in the NBA can the team with the Worst Record not have the #1 pick in the draft.

And don't look now, but the Wizards are going to be a powerhouse in the East in several years. They've got a lot of money to play with and they have a lot of young talent now.

So you suggest the team with the worst record get the #1 pick every year.

OK, so what would stop a Houston team with no Yao for a full season, or any team that loses a star player for an entire season, tanking the entire season to get the #1 pick & become the ultimate dynasty?

I'm not saying the lottery isn't flawed, but that's not the answer.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Detroit go into the top 3, but with only a 5.3% chance at the first pick and an 18.3% chance overall of going into the top 3, the odds weren't with them.

On the bright side, the Pistons didn't drop lower than 7 and can get a decent big man. Targets include: North Carolina's 6-foot-10 Ed Davis, Georgetown's 6-11 Greg Monroe or Baylor's 6-10 Ekpe Udoh.

But you guys have Charlie V. What's wrong with him?

In a game where one star can put your franchise deep into the playoffs...I have to agree.

But then, who's really going to intentionally tank it, The NFL has it's worst team get the #1 pick, so does the NFL and NHL, Why not the NBA?

Teams like Minnesota and the Clippers have tanked for years and they're nowhere close to being a contender. How many number one picks have panned out or lived up to the hype? Most of the great players are taken further down and some picks have even been really late (Parker, Ginobili) and have ended up being fantastic players. Scouting is far more important than drafting position, but the lottery is a joke.
