"Official" We ain't gettin' nobody thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd like to see the Cavs trade for an impact player but I don't think it'll happen. They don't have anyone to trade...

So would Sam Cassell like to get a buyout from the Clippers, then move on to Boston as a free agent? Put it this way: With the Lakers getting Pau Gasol, he'd be crazy to want to stay in L.A.
"That's the only way anything can transpire," said Cassell. "I don't want to get into all the details. I just play the game of basketball. But that's what (agent) David Falk is for. And he's working. He's working." -- New York Daily News

As far as Doc Rivers is concerned, Sam Cassell doesn't exist. When asked what he thought of the Clippers point guard (who will be in town tomorrow night), Rivers replied, "He's been hurt, right? Livingston."
The response was clever, considering the rumor mill has been cranking out scenarios, including the Clippers buying out Cassell and the 14-year veteran possibly landing in Boston. -- The Boston Globe

If the celts land this guy and we do nothing, I'm calling for Ferry's head!

Why not trade Damon and Shannon for Cassell? That is if we can't get anyone else.

Do those salaries match up?

yep... only cause
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to L.A. Clippers and Cleveland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Clippers and Cleveland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Though I don't see this happening...

YES. Newble and Brown don't though.

We can't even get Damon Stoudamire! We suck!!!

Maybe we should have a Memphis fire sale. Seems to be more interesting then winning.

As usual Pau Gasol is moved and so is Shaq and the Cavs are nowhere to be found.

I expect Mike Miller, Andre Miller, J Kidd, Bibby, and Artest to be moved also, but I'm sure it won't be to the Cavs.

Dude give it a rest. There are FAR more plusses than minuses with this team. I swear some people would be bitching about this team even if we won the freaking championship.

No shit, it's getting old. The team is playing great right now without even its full roster. 15-4 since Christmas (including a last second loss to the Suns and a loss to the Sonics without LBJ/AV/Sasha). Just enjoy it.

The point is we didn't win a championship and we were swept...

If you put Lebron on any team in the league, He could do what we have done and probably more. This team is so devoid of multi skill players it's unreal.

We have two pg's that can shoot but can't pass.

We have no sg's that can shoot.

We have NO PF's or Centers that finish at the rim.

Oh and our Center is by far the best free thrower and mid range shooter on the team.

People are happy to be getting swept in the finals. This team needs a legit #2 that can create, finish, and shoot.

I guess you guys are as blind as the media in closing your eyes and realizing how great Lebron is. Lebron's teammates blow, that's with Lebron making them better, if this team had any semblance of talent we would be able to make trades. The only keepers on this team is Gibson, AV who will be gone after next year, and Z.

Wow I would hate to hear what you guys would say if you were a team of someone like the Suns who have accomplished FAR less than what we have, with "better talent".

Facts are facts:
- We got to a point last year that all but 1 other team didnt get to.
- Last year at this time we had just about the same record as we do now.
- Last year we had a couple key injuries down the stretch just like now.
- Last year we couldnt quite pull off that big trade to set us "over the top", but yet we still got to the Finals.

Its not all doom and gloom fellas. Could we be better? Of course. Are we still one of the top teams in the league? In my mind yes. Greg Anthony last night after the game said the Cavs would beat the Celtics or the Pistons, whoever it was that we faced, in the second round. Outsiders are starting to come around, why arent we? If we dont make that big trade, I still like our chances and think we can win the East again, if we make that big trade then we are the clear cut favorites to win it all. To me, its as simple as that.

I'm just tired of waiting, it truly feels like that guy to put us over the top will never come.
