"Official" We ain't gettin' nobody thread

Maybe he doesn't. So what?

We got to the finals last year. Is there any reason we can't get there this year?

What if the Spurs get knocked off out West.

How would our chances look in the finals this year if we are facing a less-experienced team without the personnel and discipline to stop LeBron and we're relatively health?

Of course the Cavs could suffer a crucial injury, or get knocked off as much as anyone else. Even the most dominant team last season got knocked off in the first round. The bleeding Patriots lost the Super Bowl. There are no guarantees, but do you really think we have no shot?

I feel bad for Lebron's lack of talent on the team. If it doesn't change I think he'll get fed up and leave. Imagine if Lebron played with Nash and Amare in Phoenix, what damage he'd do. No one can argue outside of Lebron we are one of the least talented non athletic teams in the league.

I would have argued with this just a few weeks ago, but when we can't even beat the Sonics without LeBron, something's definitely wrong.

On the other hand, a lot of people said we should never have resigned Z, when all he did was stay healthy for the most part and help LeBron make 2 playoff appearances including a trip to the finals. I'm here to tell you right now that we don't even make the playoffs if it wasn't for Z. LeBron didn't run up and hug AV when we won the ECF; he didn't hug Mike Brown or Larry or Sasha or even Boobie. That can mean whatever you want it to mean.

We didn't have AV or Sasha either, two of our top six rotation guys outside of LBJ.

Talent is in the eye of the beholder. Our team exists to support LeBron. In the right situation Drew might be an 18/10 guy, Z could be a 20/12 guy, Larry was a 22/5/5, Damon was 12/6, etc, etc. If you put those players in a system which is designed to feed them the ball in a way they can produce, that's what they'd do ... or in some cases have done. Even in highschool LeBron was talking about how his team just needs to play defense and hit their shots and he'd lead them. So for better or worse, that's how the Cavs are built.

Was it Rosen who broke down LeBron's possessions and determined that the number of times he assisted, attempted to assist, or shot was on the same order as Steve Nash?

What do you expect the L-Train to do when you take out the L?

I've wanted to see this team bring in (or develop) a PG... not so much because I think he'll be more effective than LeBron, but because he'd help get the other players involved in more traditional ways and help make them look better while reducing some of the load on LeBron - especially when he's sitting.

Understand a big part of why the Cavs are the way they are is because of how LeBron runs team. Players like Gibson who can just come in off the bench, stand in a corner, and drop 3pt shots while still giving you some defense are pretty darn rare.

Is it just bad luck that so many players have struggled once they've come to the Cavs? Or is it that we keep asking them to produce in a role that's very different from what they're used to?

Before this year the Cavs had a semi-decent record without LBJ. When they stunk earlier in the year without LeBron, both Hughes and Varejao were out as well.... You're going to struggle when you're missing three of your rotation players (I think they particularly missed Varejao in the Seattle game, Gooden played like garbage and they needed some energy).

Is it wrong to say I'd rather keep 3 Mid Tier players rather then get one Top Tier player?

We need to figure out how to keep AV happy if anything.
