Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Too bad we didn't keep Felder and drop Jose.

Felder + Shump for Bledsoe.

I think Felder is a more viable PG than Calderon but I'm not sure Lue would have put him out there even though we have no true PGs playing. I will never understand why the signed Calderon.

I understand why we did WHEN we did it. He was an insurance pickup for the end of the bench. Replacing other vets who are now gone.

But, after getting Rose, Wade, and IT. Calderón now makes ZERO sense. If Felder didn't look like absolute trash the ENTIRE preseason, we would have cut Jose. I mean, all we needed from Felder was ONE game like tonight. So frustrating.

But let's be careful not to do revisionist history.

Still lots of kinks to work out, but it will be nice, once IT and Rose come back, to be able to throw 11 legitimate NBA players out there. Far cry from last year.

Yeah we decided no thanks on point guards even though we have Calderon. Wade going to the bench made him even more dispensable so we essentially lost the Road Trippin podcast for nothing :). I thought Calderon played really well off the bench for the Hawks last year so I still think he can be productive with the right unit.

Not crying over Felder's best game ever. Guys that short should hit wide open shots. Like AC mentioned, he just wasn't hesitating and shot with confidence. This Bulls team will be perfect for his development going forward. Wish him nothing but success in that endeavor.

Anyone know if any of our players will rest tonight or do you expect full line up apart from IT and DRose

I don't think Felder looked terrible all preseason. He did have that 11 assist game. The offense looked more fluid when Felder was out there vs Calderon, even if Felder look like crap shooting. Having a PG that could just set up players for 10-15 minutes a game is probably what we would have asked of Felder right now. Lue definitely wouldn't be happy with him taking 13 shots in a game.

I don't think they were going to cut Calderon unless he was injured. The tax implications if he didn't get picked up by another team was too much. He wasn't trade eligible either. I think they will include him in any trade we make this season. December 15th can't come soon enough.

Giving a full guaranteed contract to him will be a lesson for this front office. It wasn't necessary that early in the offseason and limited their flexibility going forward. Calderon wasn't a player taking a discount to play with a contender, his market value was a minimum contract.

LeBron visibly "tweaked" his ankle again last game. So, that could be used for a rest excuse without raising eyebrows.

Now if we could only have a solid 3rd PG off the bench that could give us a spark, some energy and score points. Someone like a Kay Felder would be good fit.

By the way, I always laugh at how many people make the mistake of saying it was just one game or "his best game ever". You have to look at the minutes people get and who they are playing with. I think Felder played a normal game, he simply just played more minutes and there was no other major scoring option on the floor so he had more opportunities to shoot/score. Pretty much and NBA player could average 20 points per game if he played 36 minutes and was told to take at least 25 shots. Not saying that it would be smart or efficient but you always have to consider the situation. I see Felder having many more games like last night. Not saying he would play 36 minutes often but i could see him at 18 points and 8 assists per 36 min.
