OSU vs ND ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Notre Dame did beat themselves..Smith is a bad QB, not a bad player. Two totally different things. He changes the game because is able to run, he is a rare commodity and OSU had a great year with him.

I thought with the ability of Notre Dame to spread the OSU defense, that they could win. They did that, had success with it, they just beat themselves by ending drives with dropped passes etc..

With all that being said, I am still very impressed with this Notre Dame team. Nobody expected them to have this kind of year, to get to a BCS bowl and play a good game says alot for Weiss.

Once Charlie gets his own players, it should be good for Notre Dame football.

They had a cakewalk schedule if you ask me, compared to what we faced, we both faced teams in the Sugar Bowl, both faced Mich and we faced a bunch of other ranked teams when you faced busters..

So since Smith can throw for 300+ yards and run for 50+ he is a bad quarterback?

Yet Quinn can throw for a third less and run for much less, lower completion percentage and less 3rd conversions and he is better?

Notre Dame had a great year. And their program is definitely back on track. They will be fun to hate the next ten years.

Smith was the better QB on the field today... Nuff said...

I was not a fan of his mental game from that position...But, that last game agaisnt Michigan, and without a doubt this game leads me to believe he will have a great year next season, and has matured as a QB...

He made great reads, delievered a tight ball with velocity and accuracy and ran when he had too...

He didn't force anything, and made only 1 true mistake....

Anybody in the world will tell you Quinn is the better QB. And me being a Notre Dame fan has nothing to do with me saying that, if you cant see that than I dont know what to tell ya.

Smith obviously played a very good game, one better than Quinn, and thats the game goes some times.

I see, I was under the impression that you thought Smith went out there and did that by accident or just got lucky. He is a very good Qb as is Quinn but the better one tonight played for OSU. Good game though it was entertaining.

CDT, what are you talking about? It was obvious that the only reason Smith had a good game is b/c the refs were personally out to screw ND and the Irish defensive coaches kept calling soft zones. I don't know why they didn't play man against Holmes and Ginn. I mean, so what if they don't have the speed or ability to cover even Stanford's lowly receivers? So what if OSU has some of the quickest and most talented WRs in the nation and the ND defensive backs had no ability to hang with them man to man? So what if all the national media, who normally have an unnatural bias for ND, are saying the Irish were completely out classed last night, showing the world that they have significantly less talent than OSU on both sides of the ball? ND beat ND my friend. If you can't see that than I dont know what to tell ya.

And so what if the replay got both calls right (Gonzales incompletion & ND's touchdown)? So what if the domer's were holding OSU a good six times that never got flagged (and those were just the obvious ones that were caught on camera)? So what if Holmes was getting mugged on a regular basis? Those refs clearly had money riding on Ohio State!

I never once said Notre Dame was still the best team after the outcome. I do believe Notre Dame beat themselves, but it was clear OSU was the better team.

Yet, you continue to be a jackass about it, which makes no sense to me.

Im not very impressed with his sister either, but when you look like AJ Hawk, you take what you can get. Cause thats one ugly ass dude, his nose is the size of my entire head.

quinn wasnt saying anything when hawk smashed his face into the ground.we almost gave u guys the game,it could have easilly been 28-7 early or atleast 24-7 but a dumb choice on the option and a blocked FG.after ur guys first TD u guys thought it would be easy but our D just shut em down after,we pissed on them.

Just as you have to give OSU credit for stopping the irish offense, you have to give ND credit for blocking those FGs. However, the pitch was a serious boner by Smith. We should of at least gotten another field goal attempt there.

Concerning Hawk, it really doesn't matter if he has a face like an anvil, the guy could have about any girl in Columbus. Now that he's about to be a millionaire, make that about any girl anywhere. It was all fun and games tagging the sister of the opposing team's star, but the game is now over and it's time to move on to some hotties.

Just found out the 617 yards OSU put up is the most that ND has ever given up.

Mr. Bucknuts on the game: http://ohiostate.scout.com/2/485710.html
NDNation.com is a voice of the Irish and had an unusually well balanced re-cap of the game and their analysis of how and why. This is their conclusion:

The final score was but one indicator of the gap between these two teams. Ohio State’s offense won virtually every physical matchup, its size and speed on defense was daunting, and the kicking game was superior despite the two blocked field goals. Finally, any notion that Notre Dame possessed an advantage in coaching acumen was firmly dispelled by Tressel and his staff.
