Pat Riley Karma Safari / DWade to sign with Chicago

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wade and Riley already had at least one round of contentious negotiations, and after the playoff performance he had, nearly dragging his banged up team to the ECF, I dont think he's going to be asking for less $$$. With Bosh a huge question mark now, I also wonder if he believes he has enough help to truly contend in the East.

If Riley pisses him off I could see him leaving, but where he would land and how much $$ he gets? Tough to predict. Chicago maybe?

I've thought he could end up here somehow since Lebron came back. Problem is the Cavs dont have any cap either so I dont see a logical way it happens here unless Lebron takes a paycut.

If LeBron could somehow get Wade here I honestly wouldn't even care if Durant went to GSW.

Wade/KI/LBJ to close out the game?

Wade can't shoot 3's, J.R smith is a much better fit in the starting unit, wouldn't mind having wade run the second unit while LeBron/Ky are resting though

Wade and 'Bron won two titles starting. And people think he needs to come off the bench, because he doesn't fit? :chuckle:

3 point shooing is important, but Wade is one of the top mid range shooters of all time. (see MJ and Kobe as the 2 of the last 30 years better)

That would provide incredible spacing too.

Lets not pretend if somehow Wade comes here that he isn't the better player to start. That is just Silly talk.
Wade is still a very good player but he doesn't provide any spacing bc his 3 ball is so mediocre. When lebron was on Miami the opposing defenses would sag on Wade so much. Lebron was a much better half court scorer on Miami when Wade was on the bench.

Yes, did you forget about Kyrie Irving? Dwayne Wade was Miamis Kyrie.
You need people to stretch the floor for Kyrie & LeBron, so they can penetrate, Wade can't stretch the floor hence hes not a good fit with our starting 5, J.R Smith on the other hand is a sniper

It is what we want, But how would that convince him to come here ? Take a lesser pay and play from the bench sounds like a very insulting proposal if you are Dwayne Wade.

Kyrie does stretch the floor. He's normally a 40% three point shooter.

If the Heat can get away with winning back-to-back titles with just Chalmers and Wade, they would figure it out with Kyrie and Wade.

And Wade is a deadly mid range shooter. He's great playing off the ball with LeBron.

He's outstanding moving without the ball even when there's isolation with LB/Kyrie, cutting back door for lay ups and dunks. He and LB made a habit of this in Miami.

Wade isn't going to come here to play off the bench, while taking significantly less money.

He either starts, or we don't get him. We probably aren't either way.

Wade has a quick first step, so when he's open and gets a look he can blow by the guy coming to contest for a better shot, he doesn't need to jack a low percentage three.

And our best lineup would be LeBron at the 4, Wade and JR at the wings.

I know this is for fun, but how could it be possible? Let's say Riley does piss him off, we could sign him for MLE or trade the TPE? He definitely won't take the MLE, c'mon. And even if we traded the TPE, he is still sacrificing like 20 million dollars. That is an insane amount. Because I guarantee plenty of teams are willing to pay him the max. And we are the last team on earth Riley would trade with. He would rather lose Wade for nothing than trade him to us.

All of that being said, the Heat are done. They aren't contending even if they keep Whiteside. And it doesn't really make sense for them to pay Wade the max. Not sure if Wade wants to stay or Heat might want to move on and rebuild, but both sides are still probably loyal enough to each other that they want Wade to finish his career in Miami.

I'm not sure how many years Wade has left in the league, but the only way I could see him coming to Cleveland is at the end of his career when he has like 1 or 2 years left and is ring chasing and willing to take a smaller contract. Maybe that is right now, but I doubt it. Looked like he had a decent amount in the tank last year. Maybe in another 2-3 years.

3 ball dominant players is way too much for the starting lineup imo, also two of them (Wade/LeBron) are not great 3 point shooters, which will cause the paint area to clog way too often & will cause bad spacing offensively.

If Wade is really all about the rings I can't see why he can't off the bench for the betterment of the team, its all about sacrifice when you trying to win the chip & I think wade knows that by now, also lets not forget that Wade is 34 already, not exactly a young buck anymore

True, there might be some issues, but I think Wade is one of those guys that's on the decline and has/is willing to alternate his game.

I think he and LeBron have such a deep trust and high understanding of the game, they know how to make these kinds of things work.

I rather have Wade starting, because our attack defensively and in transition would be uncanny. Having LeBron, Kyrie, and Wade on the attack would scare teams like never before.

Wade's length has always given teams problems.

I think Wade coming here isn't happening though. It's a nice fantasy that likely is not happening.

Not sure if the safari will work if the player's name is misspelled in the title :chuckle:

LeBron could agree to a paycut so we could bring him in on the taxpayer MLE. Maybe?
